Detective Eoin Miller’s last case nearly cost him his life - and he’s got the scars to prove it. He wants out of the game for good, but convincing crime boss Veronica Gaines is easier said than done. She has a pressing matter that needs handling…and Eoin is just the man to do it. A rapist is targeting immigrant girls, girls who know all too well just how little help an outsider can expect from the local police. As an ex-cop who was shunned for his half-gypsy blood, Eoin knows it too. There’s just one problem: Veronica isn’t paying for an arrest. She’s paying for a kill.

I love espionage, legal, and detective thrillers but listen to most genres. Very frequent reviews. No plot spoilers! Please excuse my typos!
In the Eoin Miller series Eoin (pronounced owen) Miller is a different type of protagonist in than we are accustomed to. Sure, he is not without conscience like Victor the Assassin in Tom Wood's wonderful series or Michael Shaeffer (the Butcher's Boy) in Thomas Perry's great series or even Noah Wolf on David Archer's fantastic series. Eoin knows right from wrong; he is just a shiftless alcoholic bumbler who is lucky enough to surrounded by people who are less amoral than he. It makes for very good listening!
