Yes, because the characters are interesting and the plot keeps my attention. I look forward immensely to the next opportunity I have to listen.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Royal Blood?

When the Princess explains to her fiancé why she had agreed to marry him.

What does Katherine Kellgren bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She really makes the characters come alive with her reading. It is hard to imagine how she can make them all sound so distinct--and the voices she uses are all exactly right for the pictures I have in my mind.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made chuckle and smile rather than laugh uproariously, but that is just what I was looking for.

Some tropes should be left behind

I enjoyed this book, but readers should be aware that it has the same problems as the others in the series: ex the heroine is constantly being saved by men instead of acting on her own account, etc. This particular book makes reference to women being too unattractive to be sexually assaulted multiple times and there are more frequent gay slurs/stereotypes then the previous books (fairy, pansy). The whodunnit and period aspects of the series are great, but the toxic tropes (rape as plot device, men "romantically" being vaguely threatening, etc) are getting a little heavy handed.

Another dynamic pairing!

The Royal Spyness Mystery series by Rhys Bowen is wonderful -- very fun set of stories. Katherine Kellgren is a very enjoyable narrator and easy to listen to. I wish there were more in the series -- can't wait to find out what happens next!

Love the Series

Good, clean fun. The conflicts created by the lack of money and royal protocol create a lot of interest especially for this American. There is just enough actual historical circumstances and characters to make the plot seem believable and the author has a great sense of humor. Very enjoyable.

Gotta love Georgie!

The best and most spine tingling mystery of the series so far. If you like the ambiance of P.G. Wodehouse and the mysteries of Nancy Atherton's Aunt Dimity series this one's for you.

Entertaining listening with nothing to strain the brain. The narration is outstanding. I hope she continues in the books to follow.

Totally enjoyable!

I’ve liked all of this series so far. This one was especially entertaining. Great characters and a well plotted story will have you guessing. The gothic nature of this one will keep you wanting to read as quickly as possible to find out the whodunnit part, but the characters and plot will make you want to slow down and savor ride. What fun! The narration is a total delight- - so many great voices. What a talent! Top marks all around.

The plot twists, the characters and the humor all add up to an enjoyable listen. The performance has me grinning even laughing at times. Very fun and keeps me guessing.
