Performance is key!
Once more, Katherine Kellgren has done a great job narrating the Royal Spyness series. I love how she's able to provide all the characters with a distinctive voice and her ability to do accents is amazing. I am not too keen about the whole 'vampire' storyline but, overall, it was fun to listen to.

Campy Vampy
Some reviews haven't raved this one because of the mention of vampires. It didn't bother me and the introduction of Queenie more than made up for many of the less likeable parts of the story. So far probably the most humorous of the series.

Outstanding Narration of an Entertaining Story
My oh, my. What to say about this book?
Well, it is no literary masterpiece but it sure is entertaining, so much so that I am already purchasing the next book of which, very smartly, they gift you a good preview at the end of Royal Blood, and since Katherine Kellgren is such a FABULOUS NARRATOR I frankly don’t care much about the plot; like a child, I just want her to read me stories!!!
So, yes, I definitely will continue to listen to this saga.

A light, entertaining mystery
Imagine my surprise to find this story takes place at Bran Castle, which I had visited a few months ago. This made it even more entertaining as the author wove in some historical facts in with the fiction. The narrator does a good job with the different voices, though some become a bit annoying in their tone. However with a cast of so many characters, it's remarkable to keep them straight. There are enough twists and turns to keep one guessing and wondering. All in all, I enjoyed it and will definitely happily follow Lady Georgiana n another adventure.

A Fun Historical Mystery!
Would you listen to Royal Blood again? Why?
Yes, the characters are real, with real problems of economics, politics, and endearments.
What did you like best about this story?
It brought forth the morals of the time, the difficulties and a good old fashion mystery.
Have you listened to any of Katherine Kellgren’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No, but I will not miss a one from now on.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I laughed, can not remember crying, but could not stop listening. You become so involved in the tale, and you just want to keep up with the characters. Therefore I listened to all of them. Great while preparing to sleep and charming to lazily spend an afternoon with.

My Favorite (Thus Far) in the Series
Great setting (Transylvania-gothic!), which flavored the story to an entertaining level. Narrator (the always-wonderful Katherine Kellgren) demonstrated exceptional range. Her accents added much to the story’s charm.
