Critic reviews

"Yo ho ho? get ready for a ripping good yarn.... This nonstop action adventure has all the elements of a perfect summertime thriller - pirate treasure of unimaginable worth, 300-year-old cryptograms written in invisible ink, a legendary curse, and a driven captain who will stop at nothing to reach his goal. The red-hot authors of Reliquary score another big winner." ( Library Journal)

should be a movie

This would make a great movie, like a scary Goonies. I wish their books would get screenplays.

outstanding read

a wonderful balance of science and historical (in certain respects biblical) fiction that all mixes together and boils over into this dramatic treasure hunt and race against the clock.

Great story!

I really enjoyed the story told here. Nothing beats a good treasure hunt. Adventure, mystery, a massive amount of history that I can’t wait to study more of, and fascinating characters. Scott Brick is a wonderfully talented narrator able to voice a multitude of characters and enhance each of their personalities with his performance.

Best treasure hunting story ever told.

Lincoln and Child deliver again, this time with a new cast of characters that make you they always did sequels.

Not their best

Unbelievable in many parts. The sword is impossible. and is overkill. How could it be so beautiful and been made if it kills everyone?

always love a good yarn!

I admit I am a Pendergast fan, so it was only natural I should look at other Child/Preston books. This is a great stand alone novel, full of mystery, history and pirates! How could it get any better?

Fun adventure story.

What did you love best about Riptide?

The story was fun and action packed. Sometimes I found myself tuning out during some really wordy parts but liked the story overall.
