Florida investigative reporter Whitney Steel has lived in the shadow of her legendary father long enough. To prove herself she needs to find the "big" story. She found it. Now it may kill her.
After receiving a lead pointing to the world's first cloned human, now a small child, Whitney vows to unravel the truth. However, sifting through the facts proves to have dangerous results, including death threats and murder.
When she's nearly killed, but is saved by undercover FBI Special Agent Blake Neely, he refuses to let her get in the way of his own objective - at least not right away.
Whitney and Blake are caught in a lethal game between a billionaire obsessed with genetic perfection, his hit man's thirst for retribution, and a Colombian drug lord fresh out of prison determined to make Blake pay for his twin brother's death over a decade ago.
Can they save an innocent child before it's too late?
Faced with tough choices and deadly consequences for many, Whitney soon realizes that sometimes a story becomes more than just a story.

I haven't had the opportunity to listen to a lot of audiobooks, but this one is definitely in the top 5.
The storyline that Kim Cresswell has created is FANTASTIC. I'm not usually into mystery suspense crime stories, but there's enough romance inserted throughout the story that I was HOOKED. And Blake is HOTTTT. I need a clone of HIM!
Rebecca has a very distinct voice and reading style. At first it drove me crazy, and didn't feel right for the story. But the further in I got, the less I focused on how *I* thought she should read it and more on the story itself. In the end, I'm glad that Rebecca read this story. Her ability to separate the characters with tone of voice was spot on.
YES! Although it wasn't an option, I would have had I been given the opportunity.
I can't wait for Retribution!!!
I think I really like audio books!! This is a favorite book, and the narrator was great! It really brought the book to life. I really makes the time go by faster as I'm doing things around the house! Can't wait for my Whitney Steel on Audible!!
Reflection grabbed me from the first paragraph. It is a fast-paced action thriller with strong characters and a very real plot. It left me thinking well after I finished the last page. Through out the action I had to tell myself to breath. This is an excellent debut novel by the author
I'm retired USAF and fully retired with a lot of time to read now. Read my whole life so thought I'd give some of that knowledge back.
I really liked this debut novel by Kim Cresswell. Action, twists and suspense all rolled into one book. Oh yeah, and sex. (Romance). Didn't know this was in the book as to the teaser. I personally could have done without it and the story would have been the same.
Any way, I am still going to give this a 5 as it contains everything I look for in a thriller and mystery.

I have been an avid reader all my life. Everything from True Crime to Time Travel. Now that I am retired, I read even more.
There was more steamy sex than mystery. When a book is touted as a mystery and the FBI & investigative reporter are there to uncover and stop the bad guy I don't expect or want GRAPHIC sexual exploits. Sorry, but while I expect a blooming romance to be part of the book, I was looking forward to a mystery. I was gifted this good via Audiobook Boom in exchange for an unbiased review.
Reporter Whitney Steel is looking for the big story and when she catches a lead on the first cloned human, a small girl named Angel, it is almost the death of her. In steps undercover FBI Agent Blake (cutey guy)to save the day, well I think it turn into a week, thereabouts. But he also has his own job and agenda to take care of, besides keeping a nosey reporter in one piece, especially one he has fallen in love with.
This is a great book with non-stop action and some well placed twists and turns to keep you guessing. The characters are well rounded and likeable, well most of them. The story flows at a great pace. I had the audio version and found that narrator Rebecca Hansen did a great job on the different characters voices, especially as she settled into them.
Because tales should be told.
Definitely. The narrator has a distinctive slightly nasal voice. She performs this book with a vaguely bored cadence reminiscent of Madeline Kahn. At first this detracts from the story, but then adds some unintentional amusement. The action scenes narrated in this ho-hum voice are funny, but the sex scenes are nothing short of hilarious. If you are as perverse as I am and delight in this type of incongruity, then this book is for you.
The story itself is a pretty decent action/steamy romance. It has an original plot that moves pretty quickly. The violence scenes are well-written. It is written in a Tom Clancy style.
Not at all which is what makes this book interesting.
It cracked me up repeatedly. "He had a tight body made for action," spoken in that disinterested voice is too funny.
Adult content--numerous sex scenes and violence. I received this book for free in exchange for a fair review.

The Audible book is suspenseful. Plot is intricately drawn. Performance by Rebecca Hansen is good. Rebecca's voice took awhile to adjust to, but the performance actually contributed to the writing in this story. This was entertaining. Above average for what I own of Audible books.
There is the well developed plot, as mentioned. The characters work and interact well throughout. Aspects of the story are interesting.
It was overall Good. A listenable, easily understood performance.
Yes, eventually. After the story and its plot are less in my memory.

The description of this was intriguing. A reporter trying to get the story on the first human clone & all the consequences of her chasing the story.
I felt that this was more focused on the main character, Whitney, specifically rather than her in relation to the story she was covering. Obviously, the things that happened to her happened because of the cloning story, but there was very little time spent on the actual cloning story and what happened.
I would have enjoyed this more if the relationship between Whitney and Blake didn't seem like the primary focus. I didn't find their relationship believable or realistic and it distracted me from the rest of the story.
The narrator did a nice job. It was different than the voice and tone I would have expected from the character based on the language.

"Great idea for a story"
I received a free copy of this audiobook in exchange for an unbiased review.
I really enjoyed Reflection, it had a great basis for a story and I felt that I got to know the characters really well. The book was sometimes a little 'cheesy' in parts, but all in all it was a good read and I wanted to find out what would happen to the characters.
I wasn't particularly keen on the narration, but that may have just been because she was American and sometimes I felt like the emphasis was put on the wrong words.
I am giving this audiobook a good 4 stars.
"More romance than I expected"
Having read the blurb I wasn't expecting the romance to feature so much. I now see that the Amazon genre is romantic suspense and I can't argue with that. Initially I found it quite difficult to listen to the narrator and even when I had settled into listening to her accent I still found that I didn't like the voices used when the various characters spoke. I am new to audio books and the learning point for me here was that I am more comfortable reading about intimacy than I am hearing it described. I'm sure folk who are looking for a romantic suspense novel will enjoy more than I did being more of a crime reader.
I received a free copy of Reflection in return for an honest review and my thanks to Crime Book Junkie and Kim Cresswell for that.
"Tense, fast-paced, brilliant"
Without the story you have nothing, interesting characters only get you so far. This has a great story. It builds tension and mixes it all up with some great characters, especially Whitney.
I don't like giving comparisons in case you don't like the author/book that I mention. Rather lets say that this is a thriller, and that it is a good example of its genre. There is romantic tension that builds between our main characters so if your not much for that in a book then that might affect your opinion. I thought it all worked really well.
Good character narration that builds the pace of the book and also makes me want to listen for even longer.
Absolutely. It jumps out and takes hold of you.
