Publisher's summary

Audie Award Nominee, Best Thriller/Suspense Category, 2013

The presidential campaign trail, 2012: A political operative and a volunteer are brutally murdered while caught in a compromising position. Written in their blood on the wall of the crime scene: IT'S GOOD TO BE BACK.

And with that, a centuries-old horror known only as the Boogeyman returns to taunt Nathaniel Cade, the president's vampire. Against the backdrop of the 2012 presidential race, with the threat of constant exposure by the media, Cade and Zach must stop the one monster Cade has never been able to defeat completely. And they must do it before the Boogeyman adds another victim to his long and bloody list: the President of the United States himself.

Best one yet!

What does Bronson Pinchot bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Bronson Pinchot is my favorite narrator and has yet to disappoint me. His character voices are the best and you can distinctly tell one character from the other. Him and Chris Farnsworth are brilliant combination.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I mainly listen to audio books on my commutes but I could barley pry myself away from this story...letting it sneak into my breaks and spare time.

Any additional comments?

I enjoyed the first 2 books, but this was by far my favorite. It was intense, chilling and unpredictable...all the makings of a great thriller, with a supernatural twist.

Not as good as the first 2 BUT..

Worth listening to finish the series...
Really missed opportunity on the ending ...
Feels more like ran out of patience to figure out to end it gracefully...

Decent, but probably my last of this series

I started with this series because I love Bronson Pinchot and will listen to just about anything he narrates. However, after three books, I think I'm probably done with this series.

My biggest problem is the character inconsistency. Cade is supposed to be super intelligent, thinking so quickly that mere mortal thoughts and reactions are like slow motion to him. Yet he consistently falls for obvious tricks, and fails to take even the most basic of precautions. It's hard, maybe impossible, to write characters that are smarter than you, but it doesn't have to be this bad.

Great combination Bronson Pinchot & Nathaniel Cade

What made the experience of listening to Red, White, and Blood the most enjoyable?

This is the third book in the series and I can't remember many that I like better. Great characters, performance and stories. Please write faster Mr. Farnsworth. You've done the near impossible, ended a great book and set us up for an even better one!!!

All of the President's Vampire books are in my top ten. Wish Christopher would write the next one.

All of the main characters and it adds to the reality of the experience as I want my favourites to survive for the next adventure.

What about Bronson Pinchot’s performance did you like?

His lovely sexy voice

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

The House of Cards with fangs

Bloody good combo of Horror, Humor and History

This is my favorite series when compared to those starring Mitch Rapp, Court Gentry, Longmire, and Dave Robicheaux, so that says a lot. I love the tongue in cheek humor Zack brings the the stories and intense action sequences interspersing the suspense. I do all my running to audio books and these three books have made me run extra miles. Do yourself a favor and listen to them all.

.....Can’t Kill the Boogie Man.....

It is refreshing to listen to this fantasy where the politicians are trying to do their best for the country and the bad guys are outsiders—not the men in office. In this book the bad guys are supernatural beings bent on pure evil. Luckily the United States has Cade on its side, a vampire with a heart-of-gold. Sure it’s a bit far-fetched, and idealistic but it works as fiction. And because of the talents of Bronson Pinchot, this novel is elevated to first rate entertainment.
