Best of Tom Clancy
I love Tom Clancy's books twice as much as his video games. Any fan of the games should really pick up a few of his books, they will enjoy the books way more than the games.

Good story, but a bit wordy
Another classic Clancy story. I think there is more detail than is needed to carry out the plot. Paid by the word comes to mind. Because this is such a long book (almost 36 hours), I found the narration somewhat monotonous.

Good story, not the best reading
Would you consider the audio edition of Rainbow Six to be better than the print version?
Not this audio version. The book is great, and so is the audio CD version (since digitized).

Somewhat. I like reading Tom Clancy books and have enjoyed listening to several on CD.

This narrator is not the same one that did the abridged audio CD version. That was David Dukes, and he was much better than Michael Prichard. This narrator made almost no effort to give accents to any of the characters, even though characters from multiple European countries (plus Israel, and a Hispanic-American) were included in this book. Not sure why someone thought the book needed to be re-rerecorded for this release, but it wasn't necessary as the first edition was quite good. I found this audiobook to have a rough and almost static-y sound more than once--not the crisp and clear sound I would expect from a digital audio recording.

A long time ago read/listen
BUT. Mr. Prichard is one of my MOST FAVORITE narrators EVER! He's easy to listen to and his tone in this book he evokes a "man's man" tone of voice. AND His narration of the Nero Wolfe mysteries were superb and hilarious!!! Mr. Prichard and Barbara Rosenblatt are plainly the best narrators EVER!

I'm hooked!
I can't get enough of the tactical elements of Tom Clancy novels. Great story from the setup to the endgame. Michael Prichard's narration does justice to the plot and characters.
