Publisher's summary

The action begins six days after a series of explosions devastated Washington, D.C., targeting the National Counterterrorism Center and killing 185 people, including public officials and CIA employees. It was a bizarre act of extreme violence that called for extreme measures on the part of elite counterterrorism operative Mitch Rapp and his trusted team member, Mike Nash.

Now that the initial shock of the catastrophe is over, key Washington officials are up in arms over whether to make friends or foes of the agents who stepped between the enemy's bullets and countless American lives regardless of the legal consequences. Not for the first time, Rapp finds himself in the frustrating position of having to illustrate the realities of national security to politicians whose view from the sidelines is inevitably obstructed.

Meanwhile, three of the al Qaeda terrorists are still at large, and Rapp has been unofficially ordered to find them by any means necessary. No one knows the personal, physical, and emotional sacrifices required of the job better than Rapp. When he sees Nash cracking under the pressure of the mission and the memories of the horrors he witnessed during the terrorist attack, he makes a call he hopes will save his friend, assuage the naysayers on Capitol Hill, and get him one step closer to the enemy before it's too late.

Once again, Rapp proves himself to be a hero unafraid "to walk the fine line between the moral high ground and violence" (The Salt Lake Tribune) for our country's safety, for the sake of freedom, for the pursuit of honor.

"Flynn demonstrates that he truly understands the psyche of the enemy.... Really scary, so realistic." (BookReporter.com)

Another Outstandung Vince Flynn Book

I only wish this installment of the Mitch Rapp series was longer. I enjoyed this book very much. Download this you will enjoy it. On another point I wish Audible would offer the early books in this series in an unabridged format. I refuse to purchuse abridged books.

Excellent!

I'm just in the middle and already thinking about how sad it would be when it ends. I'm absolutely addicted to Guidall's voice and to Flynn's writing!

Simply the best series available.

another fine Rapp addition

As much as Americans like to talk about honor, we really don't believe in it. We don't like Klingon honor, and we don't like the honor depicted here. Maybe what we really mean by "honor" is fairness and justice, with a smidge of mercy every once in a while. Nothing gets an American's back up more than injustice. And Rapp has to fight it on the streets and in the Senate.

The honor of the title is the bad guy's, so you know where it will go. No concern for rules of engagement. No trust of others who just might know something you don't. It's about showing everyone just how wonderful you are. It's like humility: when you think you have it, you don't. When you try to out-faith others, you show how twisted yours is.

This book is more than 7 years old, and more true today than then. These past few days we have seen dastardly terrorism strikes in France again, and an attempted coup in Turkey. The events in the story could also just as well be real. It is frightening.

Stan Hurley is back in this book, and we love this nasty, curmudgeon old soldier. Mike Nash is here too, and very well brought to life. This book shows more of its right-leaning philosophy, and paints the left as the ones hampering the CIA from being able to protect us. It discusses torture and "extreme measures" and explains how the acceptance pendulum swings right after every attack, but then swings back left as we feel safe.

Rapp has to fight a Senate Justice committee overseeing the CIA which wants to preserve the rights of the terrorists. I was not overly impressed by his big speech to them, but still enjoyed the book very much. Rapp knows who and what he is, but also who and what others are too. This is a great story with very real people.

An Excellent and Exciting Listen!

This book, probably due to the fact that it's somewhat short, introduces a lot of characters very quickly at the beginning of the book. It almost lost me there. After awhile though, I did catch on to all of the characters, and it blossomed into a very exciting story. This is my first Vince Flynn book, so I'm now going to go backwards thru the Mitch Rapp series!

Enjoyable and Entertaining

Guidall as always brings the story to life. Plot covers a lot of ground and geography. Middle tends to muddle and the ending seemed too quick and predictable. Interesting yet stereotypical characters if you know the series. I began not with first Rapp story and perhaps should have. Raises interesting moral and ethical questions about how USA confronts terrorism while preserving our national values and integrity as a civilized law-centered democracy.

Flynn delivers another thriller.

Would you listen to Pursuit of Honor again? Why?

George Guidell has a voice you love to listen to. He is the best and I wouldn't mind listening to his voice all day. The story was great - and certainly worth another listen. I love this series.

Captivating beginning to end

Don't wait for the unpredictable here, it won't be forthcoming. If it is the suspenseful, the twisted "gee I never saw that coming" story you are looking for, pass this by. This is a straight, brute force, hooray for the good guys action packed book that makes going to sleep impossible. The story moves very predictably, read that to mean realistically. With the exception of the quiticential Mitch Rapp hero deciding to make a poster boy out of his long time CIA covert operative best friend, Mike Nash. The idea of a tactical person not seeing the danger in making a public hero of Nash, allowing true identity to be printed in papers, is ludricous and wouldn't happen. But once done, predictably, the bad guys come for Nash. There is good action and spy stuff through out and the story is strong, the production and narration flawless. This is Vince Flynn at his best.
