Publisher's summary

The next explosive book in James Patterson's number-one best-selling Private series!

For Hannah Shapiro, a beautiful young American student, this particular nightmare began eight years ago in Los Angeles, when Jack Morgan, owner of Private—the world's most exclusive detective agency—saved her from a horrific death. She has fled her country, but can't flee her past. The terror has followed her to London, and now it is down to former Royal Military Police Sergeant Dan Carter, head of Private London, to save her all over again.

In central London, young women are being abducted off the street. When the bodies are found some days later, they have been mutilated in a particularly mysterious way. Dan Carter's ex-wife, DI Kirsty Webb, is involved in the investigation and it looks likely that the two cases are gruesomely linked.

Dan Carter drawn on the whole resources of Private International in a desperate race against the odds. But the clock is ticking....

Private may be the largest and most technologically advanced detection agency in the world, but the one thing they don't have is the one thing they need—time.

Exceptional read

What made the experience of listening to Private London the most enjoyable?

Great story, but the salient feature was the reader. His characters' voices were unique and consistent. His volume level was perfect; too many readers tend to lower their voices, which may be fine in a house, but can be frustrating in a car. One character used the "F" word, which we would prefer not to hear. Otherwise, riveting and well done.

Have you listened to any of Rupert Degas’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

A first, but we shall look for his name.

Not Patterson's best work

The story is somewhat hard to follow. Narrator does some really weird and distracting voices. But overall an entertaining listen :)

Good story plot

It did loose some of the excitement that the first two in the series had.

Will We Ever Get Just James Patterson Again?

I would love to see Mr. Patterson write a novel on his own. His would be clones just don't have his magic.

I fell in love with the character.

Rupert Degas should narrate all of Pattersons books.

Great listen overall, I recommend it

Great plot, interesting characters. The narrator is engaging, except when he tries to perform female characters, which is almost comical. Fortunately, the majority of the story revolved around male characters, so I was able to overlook it, but I would find it distracting if there was more dialogue by female characters.

A little disjointed but still entertaining

Each chapter is about 2-3 mins max which means as soon as it becomes clear what's going on there is an interruption. There were also two crimes one of which resolved itself in an unsatisfactory way. The way that it is written it is hard to care about the second crime. Worth the credit? Only if you're a fan of the series or if you are looking for something new
