Publisher's summary

The next explosive book in James Patterson's number-one best-selling Private series!

For Hannah Shapiro, a beautiful young American student, this particular nightmare began eight years ago in Los Angeles, when Jack Morgan, owner of Private—the world's most exclusive detective agency—saved her from a horrific death. She has fled her country, but can't flee her past. The terror has followed her to London, and now it is down to former Royal Military Police Sergeant Dan Carter, head of Private London, to save her all over again.

In central London, young women are being abducted off the street. When the bodies are found some days later, they have been mutilated in a particularly mysterious way. Dan Carter's ex-wife, DI Kirsty Webb, is involved in the investigation and it looks likely that the two cases are gruesomely linked.

Dan Carter drawn on the whole resources of Private International in a desperate race against the odds. But the clock is ticking....

Private may be the largest and most technologically advanced detection agency in the world, but the one thing they don't have is the one thing they need—time.

Good story told by a Englishman

Sometimes I had trouble understanding because of the strong British accent. That detracted from my comprehension of the story at times

Don't waste your time

This was so hard to get through. Very slow start, too many characters to keep straight, the middle finally got good, then it fell off a cliff and was terrible. Ended up turning it off before I finished the last chapter. I couldn't deal with any more torture.

Lots of characters. Nada was wrapped up in the end

1st half was good but way too many names/characters to keep straight. i listened to it twice because nothing was wrapped up in the end. At all. Lots of mispronunciations too. I'd pass on this one. I loved Private. This was a waste of $$

Another great one for Patterson

Private London ranks only second to Patterson's Private book about the London Olympics. Just when I think he has to be burning out, he hits another homer!

Very exciting

I was surprised that I loved this story just as much with a different narrator although it took me a few chapters to warm up to his voice. It was very fitting to have the right accent to match the place and the people.

Did not like this narrator

This story was better than the last in the series, perhaps because I'm a little more familiar with the London characters. I find it hard to believe a PI just walks away after killing someone, tho. The narrator was terrible for female voices and if the Major would have had a bigger part in the story, I would have had to toss the book without finishing it.
