Slow start, but then I was hooked!

It took me a while to warm up to this one. There's a lot of medical jargon in the first few chapters. The second half was much better. I couldn't stop listening to the last four hours! On to the next one!

Not one of Patricia Cornwells best

Where does Postmortem rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It was good, but after reading so many of the Scarpetta books, this was down at the bottom for me. I love Patricia Cornwell and hate to say anything negative about her work, but I have to be honest.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

I was interested to find out about the glittery powder residue, it drove me crazy right up until they figured it out.

Have you listened to any of C. J. Critt’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

The reading was very good.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Not really, it was an alright book, it just didn't blow me away

Any additional comments?

If you are a huge Cornwell fan, I wouldn't recommend this book, for her fans it is a disappointment, if you have never read a Patricia Cornwell or Kay Scarpetta book this is good but not the best she has done. it is worth the cost, but not a prize winner.

Easy read

Slow in some parts but definitely page turner. Listened to the entire story over the course of just a couple of days. Would recommend!

Sounded like the narrator had a cold the entire time.

Nothing worse than a fake southern accent. Especially when the narrator is supposed to be able to do one. She seemed like she had a cold the whole time. Also,! This book was just silly. The whole point of the crime novel is to get the reader, guessing which one of the main characters is the corporate, when you just throw in a character at the end it to make the plot work, it doesn’t make the plot work.

It's ok, a bit predictable

I got the three book set because of the high rating. I prefer book series because I like character development. I wasn't wowed by the story. I had hoped for more. It wasn't very intriguing or original. I will still listen to the other two in the series because they are easy to listen to, but I can't recommend them to mystery listeners.

Serial killer

I enjoyed listening to this book very much. Story line is good and I admit I wasn’t correct guessing who the killer was.

Decent story, needs better narration

The narrator makes the main character sound much older than we’re supposed to think she is. Also, too many long pauses. Had to speed up the reading time just to make it through.

Overall good story

Great details of forensic science. Far more detailed than any other novel I have read thus far. The narrator has a nice voice, but I found myself becoming annoyed with how breathy it was. She took audible deep breaths before every sentence. I also didn’t like that some of the mystery details didn’t really pan out in the actual story and had to be explained at the end of the novel. All in all, these things were minor, and I would recommend this book.

Interesting, mysterious, heartwarming and with a little romance all rolled into this wonderfully written and narratored book. Look forward to finding more from this author and narrator. Well worth sharing.
