Publisher's summary

Daniel McEvoy has a problem. Well, really, he has several, but for this Irish ex-pat bouncer at a seedy, small-time casino, the fact that his girlfriend was just murdered in the parking lot is uppermost in his mind. That is until lots of people around him start dying, and not of natural causes. Suddenly, Daniel’s got half the New Jersey mob, dirty cops, and his man-crazy upstairs neighbor after him, and he still doesn't know what's going on. Bullets are flying, everybody's on the take and it all may be more than Daniel’s new hair plugs can handle. And Daniel’s got to find the guy who put in those hair plugs—or at least his body—and fast, or else he'll never get that voice out of his head.

Head-spinning plot twists, breakneck pacing, and some of the best banter this side of Elmore Leonard's Detroit will keep you on the edge of your seat and itching for more.

I did not finish this book. bought it sight unseen because I've loved Mr.Colfers other work. too raw. the shock value kept me from enjoying the plot and dialogue.

Enjoyable... To a point.

I really enjoyed this book. The story keeps you involved and John Keating does a fantastic job! He kept me laughing though out the entire book! But... The ending left me looking for more. It was almost as if the author ran out of paper! The book just ended... Abruptly!

This is my first Colfer book so maybe that is his style and I just don't know it, but it really caught my off guard and left me wanting more from the author. I understand Colfer is a children's author... Maybe he should stick to what he knows.

As for John Keating... I look forward to listening to anything he reads. Next to the legendary Scott Brick, Keating has become my second favorite narrator.

Fast Paced Fun

John's Irish accent and spot-on inflections made this hero bigger than life! The author takes the reader/listener on a roller coaster ride with interesting characters, especially the one in the hero's head.

so enjoyable

Would you listen to Plugged again? Why?

Actually, yes -- the narration was so much fun, in combination with Colfer's writing, that even though the end might seem silly in synopsis, I would totally listen again. I so enjoyed the main character -- someone I'd like knowing for real.

Love Eoin Colfer!! Great narrator too!!!

Always love a great narrator that really gets you seeing the story in your head! Props to the performance. Love Eoin Colfer's easy writing style with such great humor and a psychological twist in the main characters personality!

Interesting story

Story was good but hard to follow sometimes with the flashbacks and voice in his head.

Two thumbs up

After reading the summary and a few reviews, this book was not what I was expecting. However it was thoroughly entertaining. I really appreciated the author's odd humor and random references for some actual laugh out loud entertainment. The narrator did an excellent job bringing the characters to life.

Not bad, but I wouldn't read another

There's nothing really wrong with this story, but I wouldn't go out of my way to read it again.

required taste

Just wasn't my thing. Apparently I have to have 15 words to leave a review.
