Just ok

I love Harlan Coben’s earlier books, but was rather disappointed in this one. His writing style seems to have changed with regard to dialogue. I didn’t like the narrator at all…..too dramatic. I guessed the mystery half way through the book and all of the murders just didn’t make sense to me.

Still Good

Even though the author says it is obviously a first attempt, it is good. I like his books and Scott Brick as the narrator. My only complaint with this and every book that claims a beautiful woman can be irrestible to all men based on just looks. Chemistry needs more than that.

I do not like this narrator!

The book was fine. Enjoyable, if a bit predictable. But the narrator made it, @ times, unbearable. If he read any slower, he would have stopped! I fast forwarded several times just because I couldn't stand it any longer! And it was not the text that made it drag, but the pace of the speaker. Will avoid this narrator in the future.

Kept me glued to my Ipod

I kept finding excuses to sit with my Ipod and keep listening. It wasn't to hard to figure out what was going on early on in the story but there was a wonderful twist in the end. I love Harlan Coben and this is definitely on of my recent favorites.

Riveting as always

Harlan Coban and Scott Brick never disappoint me. I highly recommend any of his novels.

Good book but too long & repetitious!

I heard that this is his first book & his newer books are much better. Everyone has to start somewhere.
I Almost quit reading it many times. The book should have been 10 chapters shorter. He went over and over the same things and strung them out way too long. The plot was a bit preposterous but hey, it's fiction. I will give his newer books a try.

Really good

For an older book, it was written in 1990, in my opinion it was really good. Only a few references like stopping to use a pay phone were in the story. I’m not sure now it would make a believable story with our modern technology. It grabbed me from the minute I started listening, several times I thought I had things figured out but no right to the end another twist.
On top of a good story the performance was great too

loooong

tremendous plot, a little long but due to the inability of the the characters to communicate it's believable.

Always entertaining

Have now read a number of his books and thought would start from the beginning. Amazing he could wrote a first novel with a good deal of complexity. At times I thought a bit overly dramatic and over the top. I love the reader and his voice adds to the excitement and drama. He does accents and all voices male and female very well. It was a long book but I got through it all in about 5 days. Very sorry when it was over.
He is so great at visualizing all that is going on. Probably why his books make good movies or TV shows.
