    "Action packed suspense"

Cussler books are usually a good get away from it all book. Most books start off with an item of ancient history then into the modern world with the discovery of the item etc. This one was a bit different. But as with all Cussler books the Oregon crew no sooner got out of one problem then into another one. The action, the impossible escapes are all the fun of the book and toss in a bit of humor and you have a good break in your day. One thing always come through in Cussler's books, education and knowledge is important, all his people have exceptional intelligence and skills. In this book Captain Juan Cabrillo of the Oregon find a cruise ship with all the passengers and crew dead. It is a virus like the Ebola virus and was murder. The crew of the Oregon hunt down the Responsivists who are responsible and about ready to loss a modification of the virus on half the population of the earth to make them sterile. How they solve the problem--read the book.

    "My Favorite Series"

The Oregon Files is my favorite of all Cussler series (and I've read or listened to most of them). The Plague Ship is loaded with action, and makes a guy want to BE Juan Cabrillo! This series without Scott Brick would be a travesty!

"Almost started cheering for the Bad Guy, almost."

Yet another excellent Cussler book. As much as i love Juan and the crew of the Oregon, i almost found myself cheering for the bad guys, But in the end Juan triumphs and i suppose its for the best.

    "Good listen"

This was my first book in the Oregon files series and i very much enjoyed it. Scot brick did an excellent job narrating and the stoey was very exciting. The plot slightly stretched reality a bit too far so I couldn't give it 5 stars but still a good listen.

"Should be under Fantasy, not Mystery"

Too many close calls with totally unrealistic escapes. More like a comic book than anything else.

    "Action Flick #3123"

If you're a huge Clive Cussler fan, just ignore this and continue on, because this is aimed at listeners, like myself, who have never read or listened to a Cussler book before.

Take the last 5 action/adventure movies you've watched, mash them together, and you've got this book. Bad dialogue? Check. Former Eastern European Soldier turned villain? Check. Near misses, perfect acrobatics and heroes who can't feel pain? Oh yeah. Impossibly strong, intelligent and handsome leading men with ruthlessly smart, beautiful and coy women? Puh-leeze.

Sure, there's goofy fun in listening to the book - I actually finished it, as opposed to some others, but I definitely feel like I could have spent that time listening to something better, and not so... generic.

My favorite line? Has to be the "Millions of lives hang in the balance. I know that sounds like a bad line from a spy film, but.."

When your characters call you out on your dialogue, you know something's wrong. Just sayin'.
