Sanford at the top of his game.

This was Sanford at the top of his game. He has not lost his touch.

Good Stuff

Loved every minute.

Can't imagine reading one of these when it's much better to listen to Richard Ferrone!

John Sandford, NEVER fails!

I think my title says it all! You get all the bang for your buck! Exciting, two prospectives of the story and a little dark humor sprinkled in! I am never bored reading John Sandford, NEVER!

Unbearable Narration on this one.

I am a big fan of this series and have enjoyed every book until this one, sadly. The whining and Nasaly voice he uses for the main Characters in this story make it absolutely unbearable to listen to. I only made it five chapters and that took days. Just can not satnd the sounds coming out of his mouth in this story. HORRIBLE!!

Get off Richard Ferrone's back!

I thought that the spacy voice of the Fairy character was right on. I have heard women speak like that. Really. Whiny, self-indulgent types. Ones who would have to retreat somewhere "to heal," after stress. And I could easily tell which was Fairy and which were the other females. Also, I got a kick out of Weather bossing Lucas around, and him feeling like it was his duty to indulge her.

Good Story - scary voice over

So what really was a pretty quality story was nearly destroyed every single time the narrator spoke one of the woman's voices. I mean I really wanted to pull out my own fingernails with tweezers rather than listen to that voice any more!!!

I really love John Sandford's work. His detectives are not 'super geniuses' so gives the work more believability than some authors and this story was very intricate, if not a bit 'over-the-top'. I have to say though, the never ending sing-song voice was really killing me. I almost had to stop 3 hours from the end.. and again, let me say, I liked the story, so it was honestly and truly the voice-over acting.

Maybe the actor just doesn't feel comfortable doing multiple women's voices in the same work, so he went so over the edge with this one to make sure you knew it was different than the other one, that it was pure torture!

I would have given a better score, but this is an "audio" book review, not a 'paper' book review - which undoubtedly would have gone over so much better. That voice over acting really killed it for me. The story became secondary as I was literally wincing every time that one female character's voice was spoken.

Uh-Huh - Another Nifty Lucas Davenport Installment

This novel's got Richard Ferrone reading a John Sanford novel about Lucas Davenport. That's it. 'Nuff said. This team's a standard of escapist excellence. It made me walk my dog, clean the basement, and gym sweat... just to clear enough life space to listen.

NOTE: I erroneously mis-posted a toxic review of Michael Sloan's messy book, The Enforcer to this Sanford novel. It was a mistake that was as bad as the Sloan book. Fortunately the Audible techs quickly deleted that critique and I apologize for any confusion the error caused. How'd it happen? Hey, when stupidity alone is sufficient explanation, well, why look farther?

Great from start too finish

I’m listening to all the Lucus Davenport books again and this one moved up on my list of favorites. Multiple good stories in one book that kept my attention every minute. You can not daydream on this one and keep up.
