#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • THE BLOCKBUSTER JACK REACHER SERIES THAT INSPIRED TWO MAJOR MOTION PICTURES AND THE STREAMING SERIES REACHER

“The best one yet.”—Stephen King

Someone has tried to kill the French president. How many snipers can shoot from three-quarters of a mile with total confidence? John Kott—a U.S. Army marksman gone bad—is one of them. After fifteen years in prison, he’s out . . . and there’s a G8 summit coming up, packed with enough world leaders to tempt any assassin.

If anyone can stop Kott, it’s the man who beat him before: Jack Reacher. And though he’d rather work alone, Reacher is teamed with rookie analyst Casey Nice. They’re facing a rough road, full of local thugs, double-crosses, and no backup if things go wrong. Reacher never gets too close. But this time it’s personal.

This edition includes the bonus short story “Not a Drill.”

Critic reviews

“Reacher is the stuff of myth, a great male fantasy. . . . One of this century’s most original, tantalizing pop-fiction heroes . . . [Lee] Child does a masterly job of bringing his adventure to life with endless surprises and fierce suspense.”—The Washington Post

“Yet another satisfying page-turner.”—Entertainment Weekly

“Reacher is always up for a good fight, most entertainingly when he goes mano a mano with a seven-foot, 300-pound monster of a mobster named Little Joey. But it’s Reacher the Teacher who wows here.”—Marilyn Stasio, The New York Times

Foreign Intrigue

Reacher is called on by the federal government to help pursue an assassin on the loose in Europe. Since Reacher was responsible for putting the suspect behind bars back in his US Army MP days, he is a likely source to assist in his capture. As it turns out, the real reason he is called upon is to act as bait due to the animosity the killer has for Reacher. So, from the US, to France, and on to England goes our hero in hot pursuit.

This is another solid entry into the Jack Reacher series with some plot twists and turns along the way that you would expect from Mr Child. As always, Dick Hill delivers a stellar performance and has become THE voice of Reacher. Enjoy

Another solid Reacher novel

Personal has all the qualities I love about reacher novels in general. It loses a star because it really stretches the limits of believability in parts. I mean, you have to suspend your disbelief a little bit in most Reacher novels, but the writing in a couple of the fight scenes was kind of lazy and impossible to imagine.

personal

excellent narration by Dick Hill. he made the story truly alive.. The story was extremely distinct from any other. And the action scenes that were superb. The plot continually was unpredictable with many twists and mysteries.. and the characters were extremely alive.. I was sad when it was over and could not put the book down

Reacher is always fun to read

if you're getting this book you already know what you're in for and while it's not the best reacher book it's good.

Not my favorite

I guess no one hits a home run every time at bat. Sometimes you strike out, some times you hit a single, sometimes you hit a fly ball. With this book Lee Child ha hit a double, no more no less.

Decent, but not up to par with the prior stories

Any additional comments?

I have to agree with my fellow reviewers that this story was lackluster. I am a huge fan of Jack Reacher, and I absolutely adored Dick Hill's reading of all of the prior novels. He made Jack Reacher alive for me. I suspect that Mr. Hill is getting up in years, because his voice is just not the same. It is a bit wobbly at times, and I strongly suspect he has dental problems, because his annunciation is smudgy. The story is ok. What amazes me is that JR just keeps beating up the guys who are younger, bigger and stronger than him. Considering his diet of pancakes and steak, even with all the walking he is doing, he just cannot be very fit any more. Not in the upper body at least. But I still route for him of course. I would have preferred him to be paired up with an older female operative and have them carry on a little affair. I just feel that JR not getting any while risking his life and freedom is unfair. I also liked another reviewer's idea of a bromance. Something different, to shake things up, would go a long way, I think.

He said nothing...

But he beat everyone, and then drifted away. Good fun. Typical Reacher. Don't expect a Ph. D. dissertation in Cosmology.
