Family. They're supposed to watch your back. Not stab you in it. When the enemy is one of your own, the payback is twice as hard. The Butler brothers are the Kings of the East End, and their motto is ‘what goes around, comes around'. In their world, family counts; so when the truth about Vinny's cousin's death comes to light, it rocks the Butlers to the core. One by one, Vinny's friends and family are turning against him.…
Then, the unimaginable happens - Vinny's little daughter, Molly, goes missing. She's the one chink of light in all their lives, and the one they'd commit murders to bring back. But is it already too late for that? Is this payback? The Butlers are back in this gripping, compulsive sequel to The Trap.

"Easily as good as Martina Cole" (News of the World)
"[a] fast-paced tale with gritty authenticity." (The Guardian)

Easily as good as Martina Cole books but language is a little choice at times
"Don't know why I bothered"
Not so long
At least have a conclusion where the villains got their cumupence
Only persevered because I wanted to find out what happened. What a let down. At least no precious time wasted as it droned on whilst stuck in traffic.
The characters were shallow; story predictable; narration often grating. Endured expecting a final twist. Disappointed!
I loved it! Superb. I will be listening to all her books. Have only just discovered her. The story was fast paced
great story read very well
could'nt put this down
this book is a must to read
Must say this girl is a really contender against martina cole. Very good storyline and Annie Aldington delivers another brilliant performance.
"its payback time"
Scary SAD memorable
When little MOLLY was found dead I was so sorry because she seemed to be the only nice thing about the family
The one where vinny swapped the drivers seat as I thought if he could do something like that then what would he do next
The family from hell mess with them at your peril
Could there be a more dysfunctional family ever than the Butler's everyone of them had major issues which made this book a fantastic listen
Had me gripped from the very start
Vinnie Butler hope this isn't the end of him.
Hurry up with book 3......Can't wait.
"Could not stop listening to this."
Oh yes, I would listen again. Had me gripped from the first sentence. A story about East End gangsters/underworld/villains so you need to be able to accept the very 'floral' language, but that is what makes this so believable. Not often I cannot turn an audio book off but this was one. It is a superb listen and Kimberley should be oh so proud.
The last 15 Minutes which was so unexpected but in hindsight I should have seen coming, there were clues but I never picked up on them.
Beautiful narration. Such feeling and empathy with the characters, I think that just reading the book it would not have been the superb story that it was obviously meant to be. She makes the book so real.
It did not make me laugh as it is a gritting book. Cry? No, but I did feel so sorry for little Vinnie who felt so unloved and unwanted by his father Vinnie following the birth of Molly. Been there, bought the T shirt so I could really associate with his feelings.
Already downloaded the next 2 books in the series and once heard them I will go back to the first one and get the background to the story. Love it.
"wow great sequel"
