Good narrator, Interesting enough

But ultimately disappointing to me. Charlotte’s complete and total self righteousness is becoming rather tiresome. Her character, at times, delights in the misery of others. Yet she is held up to be the most kind and beautiful chestnut haired Saint Charlotte. I feel Ms. Perry has put her character on a pedestal, but at the same time, this same character is petty and vindictive towards other women! Just because they’re rich and not perfect, she is constantly mocking them and laughing under her breath! Certainly no one can hold a candle to the absolute perfection of Ms. Charlotte. I will not be surprised when at some point she’s transported directly to heaven, and surely be the most beautiful woman there! Then all of the very best looking men, who never failed to notice, Ms. Saint Charlotte, and are willing to bend over backwards for her in every way, because of her absolute beauty and perfection, will surely tear their hearts out because she’s gone. I won’t miss her.

Endings are abrupt

I have listened to 3 books in this series and have enjoyed them. The stories are interesting but the endings are very abrupt and leave you wondering why. The next book doesn’t give you answers.

Great one in series looking for next one. Perfect matched couple who solve twisted crimes

Plot twister

It’s hard to figure these out because there are too many potential killers. but this one surprised me. I enjoyed it a lot

How can one help but love Anne Perry's writing? She carries you off to a completely different time and place. There are always twists and turns with Inspector Pitt, Charlotte and Emily unwinding them as they go. I've read them before, but it's lovely to listen to Davina Porter reading them for us.

The story line was easy to follow and Davina Porter does a wonderful job of narrating.

The performer was fantastic

and the story was easy to follow and intriguing. The problem I had was keeping track of the characters.

Complex and Enthralling Mystery

Parragon Walk is populated by a small group of the most deliciously dislikable people who give nothing away no matter who does the questioning, Detective Inspector Thomas Pitt (of Bow Street Station) or his beloved wife, Charlotte. Like the most tangled yarn, this 19th century-based mystery was a labor of love to untangle. A most enjoyable and satisfying mystery.

So many characters and murders and no one does a better job than Anne Perry with a great plot. So Davina Porter’s talent with unique voices makes this a delightful listen.
