Paul Mitchell spends his days researching WWI; his quiet life in the library can hardly be in greater contrast to the carnage he studies. Until, that is, the present catches up with him in the shape of Dr Audley of the MOD. Why does Audley want to know what really happened during the battle for Hameau Ridge on the Somme in 1916? The answer is complex and dangerous…

Don't know what I want to be when I grow up. Trip's cool though. Use Audible to make gym-training sane... And rip my imagination.
I listened to all of Other Paths… The puzzle part was sort of given away early. the characters were interesting though and Price and Schatzberger kept my attention. Liked the senses of place… Uh-huh… sensES of place. Or maybe sense of places. Places in time. It is a smart multi dimensional story that, without flashbacks … whips us back and forth from a sort of present (I'm thinking late 50s early 60s) and the middle of WWI with trips to WWII. Price gives the impression of being a captivating teacher whose telling a story to keep our interest while the events are really the subject.
The book kept my attention and left me with an intriguing set of memories. Hey, that's not a waste of time, right?
work at a job that lets me listen to books all day I like history, good mysteries and humor
Quite enjoyable story about ww1 battles and spy thriller too. I thinkit would be interesting for anyone interested in learning more about the wharf
What a gem of a find. I really enjoyed this story of a young man who gets embroiled in a present day thriller whilst studying a WW1 action. There was a nice balance of the now and the then and the climax when the two times come together (sort of!). The narration was quite laid back but it was gripping and I found myself taking longer on my walks because I was reluctant to leave the plot which, in hindsight was quite pedestrian compared with most modern day thrillers. I would happily read more by this author and listen more to this narrator.
Cracking story well told. Great to renew my acquaintance with Anthony Price after so long
