Publisher's summary

A former Delta Force commander, Brad Taylor proves with this breathtaking debut thriller that Vince Flynn and Brad Thor have company.

A collection of top operatives, the Taskforce was commissioned by the highest levels of government, kept secret from the media and even Congress. The best of the Taskforce bunch, Pike Logan, knows the greatest threat to American security is one or two idealogues. Unfortunately for them, they’ve just crossed Pike’s path.

Good story, disappointing storytelling

Any additional comments?

The story was interesting, but it was hard to get past the voices telling the story to appreciate it.

Narrator got better as the story progressed

Most unusual narrator. Everybody sounded like the Midwest US -- Guatemalan, Arab, Bosnian, everybody. It was disconcerting at first, but you got used to it.

Horrible narration

Would you be willing to try another one of J. D. Jackson and Neil Kaplan ’s performances?

not on purpose

Any additional comments?

The narrator had a strange cadence to his speech and added emphasis in unusual places. It was distracting.

First book from this offer, great read

this is the first book of this author that I have read. I was engaged throughout and plan to read the next book in the series. I recommend it.

Great Story, Not So Good Narration

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The story as written is a good story and kept my attention.

What other book might you compare One Rough Man to and why?

I would compare this book to ones by Lee Child or Vince Flynn.

How could the performance have been better?

The narration is the biggest reason for the low number of stars. I do not mind two people reading the book but the way this was done interfered with the story itself.

Narrative

Any additional comments?

Hundreds of downloads and I'm forced to give a review. The narrator is beyond bad, horrible. It's as if he's laughing at how incredibly bad he is. Doesn't anyone listen before putting this out? Wow

Outstanding storytelling from a man who's lived it

Outstanding storytelling from a man who's lived it. Looking forward to hearing the rest of Pike's story. Well done Mr. Taylor!

Good, not great

The story was entertaining, but not at the same level as other similar books. Not sure whether it was the narrator or the story line. I’ll give another in the series a try.

Great listen! Terrible narration.

my first Brad Taylor book. Won't be my last. the plot was interesting and paced well. The narrations were over the top.
Jennifer voice was terrible, far too winy! most of the other male voices were so gruff and loud was annoying in places.
