The perfect life....

A successful lawyer and loving mother, Nina Bloom would do anything to protect the life she's built in New York - including lying to everyone, even her daughter, about her past. But when an innocent man is framed for murder, she knows that she can't let him pay for the real killer's crimes.

The perfect lie....

Nina's secret life began 18 years ago. She had looks to die for, a handsome police-officer husband, and a carefree life in Key West. When she learned she was pregnant with their first child, her happiness was almost overwhelming. But Nina's world is shattered when she unearths a terrible secret that causes her to run for her life and change her identity.

The perfect way to die....

Now, years later, Nina risks everything she's earned to return to Florida and confront the murderous evil she fled. In a story of wrenching suspense, James Patterson gives us his most head-spinning, action-filled story yet - a Hitchcock-like blend of unquenchable drama and pleasure.

Avid JP reader

At times a tad predictable but I enjoyed the whole thing. Maybe because I have read many JP books that I was ahead of the story….

Now You See Her

I usually stay away from the James Patterson "collaborations" but this one was actually pretty good. A lot of action, sometimes incredible, a lot of twists and turns, I think I missed some clues while listening AT WORK, but overall a good mystery and a good listen. I would and I already have recommended it to friends.

Kept Me Coming Back For More!

My reivew title says it all. What better compliment could a suspense author want? Great development of characters, each very colorful, and the intrigue was artfully woven. Each time I anticipated the book was about to come to an end, there would be another twist and the novel would continue on. Well done!

Loved this book!

This was my first experience to audiobooks and I love James Patterson's books, so this was a very pleasurable listen. I could not wait to get my earplugs in to listen each day. And hated to take them out. I think I would have listened straight through if I could have. This was my first book by JP that did not have Alex Cross in it. So it was different. Some parts are not too realistic but non the less a great book. The narration was great too. Really enjoyed it!

I was rooting for the bad guy.....

By the end of the story I was so sick of the main character I was hoping she would be killed off. I like Patterson, and was the main reason I bought this one. This book reads like a couple of guys trying too hard to write 'chick lit."

Suspenseful, entertaining and fast moving

This is one of the better collaborations of Mr. Patterson's. I listened to the story in one day as it was difficult to stop. This story is what it is supposed to be...fiction. So much of the storyline is convoluted and could never happen in real life. Parts of the story were predictable. The background music is an interesting contribution to the storyline, and adds a touch of soap opera drama. The narration was good. However, some of the accents used for the characters made me giggle. On a serious note, I am wondering when a Patterson novel will have a person/character of color that has some substance instead of "window-dressing" or someone of a criminal nature. Mexican drug dealers who rape and trash white women is a stereo-type that has been overused. Overall, this is a very good story. I would like to see the main character Janine developed and given some additional work. I would like to see this character and her husband appear in another Patterson/Ledwidge novel.

Pretty girl with nasty past fights all odds

This is one of those books I both liked and disliked right through the end. At first when Elaina Erika Davis started, I nearly just stopped the book given the way-too-upbeat and chipper reading. Then, it kind of grew on me. Her totally upbeat and fun voice continues through good times with friends and brutal murders so be prepared.

Nina Bloom is growing her career as a lawyer in New York City when everything changes. Her past comes crashing in on her and she must protect herself, her daughter and her lies.

Nina is not smart and not necessarily a good person but she is trying. Her being a lawyer is a real stretch for me given what she dealt with in the past and how she dealt wtih it.

It is the past that makes Now You See Her the most interesting and the primary reason for why I liked the book. We travel a bit between past and present but not annoyingly so. A large portion of the story takes place in the past where we learn how Nina became the person she is today. Ultimately, it is the past that catches up with her future and throws Nina into major personal struggles and physical battles as well.

If you want a book to listen to while lying on the beach or on a tropical vacation, this is it. Otherwise, you might find it a bit too much. I liked the story and reader well enough to give it three stars but will stress that this book is not for everybody. Listen to the free preview before buying to make sure you can handle the reader's overly chipper voice.

Best Patterson so far

I have always been a James Patterson fan. This is the best by far. I typically prefer the written word but Narrator Elaina Erika Davis really does a fantastic job.

Loved it

My husband and I listened to this and we both loved it. Narration was great, story moved along nicely and was really quite suspenseful. My favorite "read" this summer.
