All her life, Sara Gallagher has wondered about her birth parents. As an adopted child with two sisters who were born naturally to her parents, Sara did not have an ideal home life. The question of why she was given up for adoption has always haunted her. Finally, she is ready to take steps and to find closure. But some questions are better left unanswered.

After months of research, Sara locates her birth mother - only to be met with horror and rejection. Then she discovers the devastating truth: Her mother was the only victim ever to escape a killer who has been hunting women every summer for decades. But Sara soon realizes the only thing worse than finding out about her father is for him to find out about her. What if murder is in your blood?

Never Knowing is a complex and compelling portrayal of one woman’s quest to understand herself, her origins, and her family. That is, if she can survive....

    "Narrator is ruining this book"

I'm less than halfway through with this listen, and it's so hard to keep going because the narrator is totally wrecking it for me. She's got a goofy voice and she reads as if she's telling a children's story. Ugh. I absolutely loved Chevy Stevens other book, "Still Missing," and I can really see now how the wrong narrator can kill a story's impact. If this narrator had also done the other book she would have sucked all the drama and suspense out of it, like she's doing to this one. And I don't know if her Canadian accent is real or a put on for the story, but it's only making the whole thing worse. My advice is to read it instead.

    "Narrator is awful!"

I'm a huge Chevy Stevens fan too & LOVED Still Missing, but this narrator is terrible & is ruining the story for me. It sounds like she's reading a children's book, speaking extremely slowly & in a monotone. I think I'm going to read the book instead - I can't keep listening to this narrator. The story is great - read the book instead.

"There's a lot wrong with this book"

I listened to Chevy Stevens' last book "Still Missing" and found it quite titillating. However, this new book is extremely stupid. It's made worse by the embarrassing narration. Ms. Macduffie sounds quite a bit older than "34" which is supposed to be the age of the main character. Her horrendous accent makes me feel embarrassed for Canada. Also, she's terrible at portraying menacing serial killers, and just about every other character in the book. This whole thing is pretty much a disaster.

    "Don't Bother!"

I enjoyed this author's previous novel, but thisbook feels as if someone else wrote it. The dialogue is stilted, the characters are not blieveable and I'm forcing myself to finish because I paid for it! The narrator sounds too chipper and cheerful, as though she is reading to children and doesn't want them to be disturbed by the scary parts. This is a big disappointment - don't waste your time.

    "Narrator and story horrible"

I really loved Still Missing and the narrator and was dying to get this book. WRONG, the narrator is sooo bad, I could barely stand it. I came back to audible to see what others thought and was relieved that they felt the same way as I did. l The character in Still Missing was so strong and this character whines in a narrator's voice that sounds like a female impersonator. I want my credit back.

    "Read the reviews first"

I wish I had waited to read the reviews before I purchased the audiobook. The narrarator is horrible and her voice simply does not match the 34 year old character. It"s too bad because I loved Still Missing (narrarator and all).

    "The Narrator SUCKS"

I just started listening and I'm a HUGE Chevy Stevens fan. But the narrator is awful. Her Canadian accent makes her sound weird and she talks in monotone. Ugghh! I'm going to try getting the book to read myself.

"Terrible - dont waste your credit"

I can barely get through this book. It has very little depth, too simple writing and the narrator is terrible. I liked his other novel Still Missing but this is just bad

    "Decent Book, bad narrator"

The women narrating this book sounds like she is reading to children. She is dramatic in places that don't warrant it, she is clearly much older than the character she is supposed to be and in no way represents the strong characteristics of the main character Sarah Gallagher. I would just pick this one up and read it.

    "Narrator doesn't fit the character"

I like this story and I loved the author's other book on audible as the narrator for that one was great - this one just left me feeling wanting for the other narrator to come back.
