Audible Editor Reviews

John Creasey reprises his debonair jewel thief turned antiques dealer John Mannering - aka the Baron - as the reformed robber goes undercover, risking life and limb to recover a set of five jeweled eggs, their ownership contested on point of death. Suave English performer Carl Prekopp (Inspector Lewis, I Want Candy) traces Mannering across London, as he dodges bullets and occasionally finds himself at the center of a high speed chase. Prekopp exudes urgency without losing his cool, much like the Baron himself.
