Publisher's summary

The national best-selling author of Royal Blood whisks her heroine away to the French Riviera for fun-and danger.

Lady Georgiana Rannoch has once again been called into service by Her Majesty the Queen. This time she's sent to Nice on a secret assignment that's nothing to sneeze at: recover the Queen's stolen snuff box.

As much of an honor as it is to be trusted by Her Majesty, an even greater honor awaits Georgie in Nice - as Coco Chanel herself asks Georgie to model her latest fashion. But when a necklace belonging to the Queen is stolen on the catwalk, Georgie has to find two priceless items - and solve a murder. How's a girl to find any time to go to the casino?

Critic reviews

“Katherine Kellgren's performance encompasses an astonishing range of personalities while remaining true to her impoverished sleuth's impeccable enunciation…Kellgren, undaunted by the burgeoning cast of characters, supplies plenty of distinctive accents and jaunty tones. The delighted listener wants the story to go on and on.” ( Audiofile)
"Fans of Peter Lovesey''s hilarious books transforming the future Edward VII into an unlikely sleuth will relish Bowen''s whimsical fifth Royal Spyness mystery starring Lady Georgiana Rannoch, 34th in line to the British thrown (after 2010''s Royal Blood). Bowen successfully melds a whodunit with comedy as few contemporary writers can." ( Publishers Weekly, starred review)
"The best part of this delicious series is the cast of characters (well known and otherwise), led, of course, by the level-headed and stiff- upper-lipped Georgiana, who tackles whatever is in front of her, be it murder or romance, with uncommon relish. A royal romp." ( Booklist)

Great addition to the series

Once again author Rhyse Bowen charms us with life in the 1930's. As always Georgie falls into the thick of murder and mayhem but with Darsie's help wins through.

One of my favorites in the series

Elena J.
I love all of the books in this series but this one is one of my favorites due to amazing narration, variety of characters , not so predictable plot.
I wish Audible would have a separate category for ironic detective stories

Lady Georgi At Her Naughtiest!

I absolutely loved the setting of Naughty in Nice, and though it was a perfect follow up to the dark castles, dungeons, and Dracula from book 5, Royal Blood (which I also LOVED). I've never really known much about the French Rivera, so all through this story I was looking up the cities, hotels, and reference points mentioned. I cant believe how spot on Rhyse Bowen was in capturing all the details. She described the scenes so well that the pictures I found online looked exactly like what I had been picturing.

Aside from being obsessed with this era, I'm equally obsessed with this series, and thought I couldn't wait to start the next book. About an hour in to book 6, however, I realized I was still wonderfully hung over from my adventure in Nice, and decided to hold off so I could enjoy all the lingering effects of French men, high fashion, casino parties, and (sigh) Darcy O'Mara.

Another extremely outstanding performance by Katherine Kellgren as well. She is hands down, one of THE BEST narrators ever, and we're so very lucky to have her as the voice of Her Royal Spyness series!

I want more! These books absolute gems...

Georgie's task for the Queen this time takes a decidedly spooky turn and prim, proper, stable Georgie faces danger with grace and aplomb. I absolutely love how she handles difficult situations. Congrats to Rhys Bowen for creating such an exciting series with highly likeable characters. The narrator does an EXCELLENT job with all the voices and I'm so happy I bought all six books on sale. I will definitely buy more from this author. Quite enjoyable!

Best one yet.

We started this series because of the narrator. Katherine Kellgren is absolutely amazing. We heard her do some other books and were hooked. Then we started on this series. So much fun. My wife has listened to 9 books so far. I’m at 5. Get these. They are great.

Great Series, enjoyable characters

This is an enjoyable series. The characters are interesting, the voices by Ms Kellgren are a delight. The insights into the social order of Great Britain are curious, and it would interesting to know how accurate it all is (not that I doubt).

Engaging Romp!

Excellent narration, hilarious characters and an almost, if not quite, intriguing mystery. Still - any farce that features successfully the Prince of Wales, Coco Chanel, Georgie's cockney grandfather as supporting characters gets a star in my book. The "fashion show" was a hoot.

Exciting

I happened to stumble on this series and actually started with book 8. I love love love it. After listening to the 1st book, i went back and purchased book 1 and now I am here at book 6 and enjoying it. It's like a mature Nancy D. but better. It's funny, lively (which i did not expect from a book with a old english 1930s setting), keeps you guessing and full of suspense. The narrator is awesome. She has the ability to change her voice for each character and not sound phony or put on even for male characters. I can tell Georgi's voice from Belinda's, HM and so on. Even my husband wants me to put it on speaker so he can listen and when he can't, he wants me to tell him what is happening lol. Great entertainment. You will not be disappointed.
