And she’s going against every warning telling her not to get involved with Roarke, an Irish billionaire - and a suspect in Eve’s murder investigation. Don't Judge the Series by the First Book!

This is a wonderful series that is definitely worth your investment. Naked in Death is pretty good, but it wasn't J.D. Robb's best, so don't judge the series by the first book. To be honest, I waited half a year before I read the second book. After that, I knew I was going to spend like 30 something credits on the In Death series. I was completely addicted to them!

Each book gets better as the story progresses. It took me 2 to 3 books to really get to know all the wonderful and interesting characters. Characters you will come to love, respect and admire.

Susan Ericksen gave a stellar performance on the narration. Each character's voice was so distinctive that you could instantly tell who the speaker was. Listening to Susan bringing all my favorite characters to life is a much more enjoyable experience than reading the books myself. I couldn't imagine the narration done by anyone else! I highly recommend that you give it a try!

"Bag of Chips" series

Any additional comments?

Instead of doing a review on each book in this series I'm reviewing the series as a whole.

I'm not a Nora Robert's type of girl. In fact, I was proud of the fact that I'm not a "Nora Robert's type of girl". After reading the first 4 books of this series I looked up the author and... well crap - I guess I am a "Nora Robert's type of girl".

These books are like a bag of chips. You start out buying the first book - perhaps the second and third - and before you know it, all 35 books are in your wish list and the credits don't come fast enough.

I don't do plot summaries, but if you have gotten this far then you pretty much have a good idea of the story outline. If you're looking for a good long series this one is fun, fast paced, and her main characters get more and more developed as the books continue.

It's not crucial for the reader to start at the beginning of the series to understand what's going on. Each book has its own story line and plot - with the larger story arch (Eve and Roarke) moving through all books.

I recommend for light and fun reading...

More focus on romance than mystery

This reads a lot more like a regular Nora Roberts romance novel with a mystery section. Narrator did all the voices wonderfully except the voice of Eve Dallas - it sounded a bit too rough and aggressive most of the time. Still, I am looking forward to the development of the relationship across the series

Loved it!

My sister is a great fan of J.D Robb and the "in Death" series, she has been trying for a while to get me to read the paperbacks. Anyway, recently, I had a 9 hour plane ride and decided I'd give this book a listen (I had a backup paperback just in case), but I must say I enjoyed getting to know Eve Dallas, Roarke and the other characters. I have just downloaded the 2nd book "Glory in Death" and will see if I become as hooked to this series as my sister.

Good, if you like Left wing politics

In the future they have outlawed guns, legalized prostitution, and now someone with is killing prostitutes with guns! J.D. Robb kills the story by making it so blatently political, with references to the lack of "real" coffee since the rainforests have all been destroyed, the total disgust with the Second Amendment, and using a hard right politician as the foil of his story. Such a shame, because the plot is otherwise very good, and the characters are interesting. Without the nakedly political motive this book would have been great.

Love the mystery, hate the bodice ripping sexism.

Can the sexist tripe and this book rocks. Strong protagonist should catch crooks not melt in the arms of a suspect. Had to fast forward through the soap opera parts to prevent nausea.

Great Start to an Awesome Series

I am soo glad that I took a chance with this author and book. I am totally hooked on the "In Death" series. Yes it's in the future but the imagination of JD Robb with the future adds a kick, and the story line, plot and romance are a perfect combination. Susan Erickson does the damn thing with the narration. Totally addictive. I have never been a murder mystery book type person but this entire series is awesome. Happy Listening!

If you could sum up Naked in Death in three words, what would they be?

All plots from 1-34 is a absolute gray listen

What does Susan Ericksen bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
