Seven years ago, this blockbuster skyrocketed Kathleen Darcy to instant fame. Now, the author's heirs are looking for a writer to pen the sequel. It's an opportunity no novelist in her right mind would pass up, and there's no doubting Jacqueline's sanity...until she starts digging through the missing woman's papers - and her past. Until she gets mixed up with Kathleen's enigmatic lover. Until a series of nasty accidents convince her much too late that someone wants to bring Jacqueline's story - and her life - to a premature end.

"Kirby, with her outrageous clothes and equally outrageous mouth, is a great companion to spend a couple of days with....Peters knows how to knit a good yarn." (Chicago Sun-Times)
Good story, great narrator, very bad recoding. filled with hisses and pops, gaps of several seconds in many places, once asked to insert cassette 8. This was very frustrating.
When I first started listening to Elizabeth Peter's books I thought there was way too much detail but as I have listened to more and more of her books, I realize the detail is what hooks you and keeps you feeling like part of the adventure. This was my first Kirby mystery but I know I will be listening to them all before long. The character is engaging, a little sassy and very likable. I would recommend this book and suggest listening to the series to fully enjoy the authors ability to tie the stories together.
I love this Amelia Peabody series. The heroine is a feisty woman based in the late 1800's early 1900's. I have always been interested in Egyptology and this is a wonderful mystery series set in this context. Early feminine Activist. Great humor and character development.
Elizabeth Peters is one of my favorite authors and she almost always delivers. Naked is entertaining and the ending is a surprise, which is always fun.
Previously the performance diferentiated between characters far better than this. I felt as if Ms. Conlin was just reading me a story ... not acting a story.
"The Gadget Guy"
Started listening and after rambling on for one hour, I gave up. If you can't capture my interest in that amount of time, well, that's it for me!
