As always jame Patterson catches you in the first

Never disappointed with James Patterson. I have a rule that if I am not hooked in the first 1/2 hour I move to something else. With JP I am hooked in the first 2 minutes

Better than some other co-written "Pattersons"

Would you try another book from James Patterson and Marshall Karp and/or Edoardo Ballerini and Jay Snyder ?

Maybe. Patterson's books are slick and I read all the Alex Cross books & loved them up to a point, and then they seemed to lose something - heart? passion? I don't know what. And I found some co-written books - like Private - similarly lacking. The Chameleon was an intriguing villain. Lexi was an interesting co-conspirator, a very strange mixture of alleged brilliance and abysmal stupidity. I liked the rather worn main character male detective; his new partner Kylie, somewhat like Lexi, seems to waffle between apparent brilliance (graduated No. 1) and horrifically bad decisions - let's NOT take the bomb squad or SWAT or any backup to the very likely location of a bomb....(and plan on evacuating an entire apartment house ourselves - oh, no, we'll tell ONE neighbor and ask him to do it!)

Which character – as performed by Edoardo Ballerini and Jay Snyder – was your favorite?

Charles Connor - the man in the engine room - salt of the earth. Captain Cates was the best female character in the book--wish her part was bigger because I found her much more deserving than Kylie. The main character, Detective Zach Jordan, seemed steady and dependable as well as smart. Honorable mention to Spence, Kylie's husband, who also has leaps of intuition. Too bad Kylie & Lexi weren't better characters due to lapses into ditziness.

Could you see NYPD Red being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Yeah. Glossy enough for a movie. Chameleon: Johnny Depp? Kylie: Jennifer Lawrence. The Detective Zach Jordan: Somehow I keep picturing a young Dennis Farina. Lexi? Lindsay Lohen?

New Series

Enjoyed the new characters. Look forward to next book in the series. Will go online to order this week.

I enjoyed the story, it held my interest
I don't usually listen to books because they relax me to the point I fall asleep. But this book held my interest

Another Winner!

Very good story. Well paced like able characters.
Have already purchased NYPD Red # 2. I highly recommend this book to action/suspense fans.

it was a little disappointing.

Love Patterson's other series this one not as good. It did not flow well and did not hold my interest as much as Alex Cross or The Murder Club

surprising

I'm not sure what I expected this is the first book I listened to from these authors but it was very entertaining it moved quickly had good action good storylines the characters got along well and there were lots of little twists and turns

Another great NYPD crime solved!

Reuniting two cops who met at the academy 10 years earlier. They run against the clock to save the Mayor and NYC's image to entice Hollywood to film more movies in their city.

Many twists and turns

Excellent story line. A bunch of surprises. I really like the series with character continuation. Also like the New York setting.

Native NY'r enjoys this book

I am new to James Patterson and this is the 2nd book I listened to on Audio. The story keeps you captivated and as a Native NY'r the references are on target. I especially enjoy the accuracy of the narrators' accents. I am curious how many other James Patterson books will follow similar themes, but think that the NYPD series will always carry a special place in my heart!
