This was a great follow up to the first book of the series, well written and well read. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series......

Patterson Delivers again

Can't wait to listen to NYPD Red 3 this one kept me on edge throughout.

Not P's Best Work, but Definitely Worth Listening

I have been a fan of Patterson for many years and I buy nearly every one of his audiobooks. I think the collaborations over the past few year fall short of Patterson's early work with a plot that is not as intricate as the original Patterson books that were solo. However, I did enjoy this book and would recommend it to everyone, even if they have not listened to Patterson before. It is a little slow in spots and fairly predictable, but the reader breathes life into the characters and that enhances the listener's enjoyment. It falls a little short of the original NYPDRED, but that's not uncommon. The first is always the best. I just bought NYPDRED3 yesterday, so hopefully it will be enjoyable too.

Patterson is usually good, but of these 4 novels, #2 is by far the best.

Stand alone story or continuation, both work

There is enough of a description of the background from the first story to give you an understanding of the history of the two main characters. Yet it doesn't bog you down with too much detail.
I liked the first NYPD RED well enough to buy this second book. The story line is very good. It has suspense and mystery.
There is some relationship issues that I personally don't think add much to the story, as it makes the male kind of "woman whipped" and the female lead is sometimes a pushy jerk. There is a lot of "he said" and"she said" through out the book. I would prefer the reader would use a slightly different voice to differentiate the characters.
All in all, I liked the stories enough, I will be buying the 3rd in this series.
