Publisher's summary

Lust, lies and the law collide in… Murder on the Down Low! Savvy L.A. attorney Vernetta Henderson takes center in a fast-paced legal thriller that erupts into a scandalous tale of lust, lies, and vengeance. Some of L.A.'s most prominent citizens are being gunned down, leaving police completely baffled. The victims are all quintessential family men. Well-educated. Attractive. Successful. But the appearances can be deceiving.

At the same time, Vernetta's outrageous sidekick, Special, leads the charge for revenge against a young lawyer whose deceit caused his fiance's death. For Special, hauling the man into court and suing him for wrongful death just isn't good enough. While she exacts her own brand of justice, a shocking revelation connects the contentious lawsuit and the puzzling murders.

Another excellent Pamela Samuels Young book

PSY writing style is a great combination of important issues mixed with fun. RC Bray is an outstanding narrator. Murder on the Down Low concerns HIV in the black community. Down-Low is an African-American slang term for mostly heterosexual men who also have sexual relationships with other men.

Fraud and Deception: On the Down Low

Murder on the Down Low is an eye opener for those of us (like me), whose life exists in the daylight while the lives of other people exist in deceit and deception on the other side of midnight.

This story is about heterosexual men who also have sex with other men on the "Down-Low," hence they are lying about who they really are. In other words, they are leading double lives. The hot issue in this story is how these men are telling lies and committing fraud on women while HIV is running rampant in the black community. The death of a woman infected by her HIV positive fiancé is the cornerstone of this story.

Author Pamela S. Young does a great job teaching and educating us while entertaining us with a great story. This story teaches the importance of HIV awareness in an entertaining story. It had me guessing about "who done it" until the reveal. I enjoyed the story from the beginning until the very last word. Good entertainment.

RC Bray is an outstanding narrator.

Another great one by Pamela Young

I love Pamela's writing style and her stories. I felt like I knew these characters from the very first book. Her work is complemented by the great reading/voices of RC Bray (wow!!!!). The Vernetta stories are wonderful and quite entertaining. And if you haven't listened to "Anybody's Daughter", it's a must listen. I hope you enjoy.

Engaging and unpredictable

Excellent presentation kept my interest throughout. I was intrigued by the possibility of more than one killer.

Oh My Goodness!!!

I could not put this book down. What an excellent read. I will definitely search out this author's work again. Wow!!!!
The book speaks very knowledgeable about the spreading of HIV and the people who died and survived the virus. Vernetta Henderson had a friend who died from the virus, from a man on the DL. And out of this death came love, a troubled marriage, a rebuilt relationship, prison, stepping out on faith to a new careers, adoption of new belief system, the ending of old relationships, court room procedures and personalities, police investigations & misconduct, and the capture of a serial killer. Omg!!! This books has it all. My new summer read is on with Pamela Samuel's Young. The narration of Ray Bradbury was most excellent, he bought to life each character.

I really didn’t like any one, but the dead people

All the characters I liked in this book were dead. If all of these ladies would of done the right thing the killer would of been caught sooner. I didn’t feel they did anything to honor their friend.

definitely a page Turner. I really enjoyed this thriller! Definitely a turn from gangsters and money laundering that African-American authors usually publish. definitely enjoy this from the view of an actual black female attorney. Bravo!
