least expected

wow this book touches me, I think mostly because it dealt with kids and the things that they go through while growing up and in school.. you never know how a person feels on the inside they may look like they have it all together on the outside but they are screaming on the inside.. the same goes for parents and the whole family.. this whole family looked perfect on the outside but had more sadness, and struggle than anyone else in town.. I'm ready for book 4.

A page Turner on to the next Scumble River Mystery

Would you consider the audio edition of Murder of a Sleeping Beauty to be better than the print version?

Have not read a book for some time since signing up to Audible. Still love the feel of books but I have my phone and book with me all the time Great for a busy life.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes this did. Sort of had an idea but the twists and turns kept me really interested and love the reader. Will look for other books she reads.

Which character – as performed by Christine Leto – was your favorite?

Main Character

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Just kept up my interest

Any additional comments?

Have read three more following and plan to start with the first Scumble River

Sleeping Beauty isn’t a beauty

Very entertaining and realistic in the life of teens. Teens can be and often are very mean to each other. Though the real gems shine through

Good Introduction to Denise Swanson’s Books

I’ve enjoyed the newer series by Denise Swanson, Devereaux’s Dime Store Mystery, and only recently learned of her additional works.

This is the third book of the A Scumble River Mystery series I’ve listened to via Audible. I can see why this original series has 19 books, as Swanson further develops each character as the series continues. The reader also begins to see not only the human characters develop, but the community of Scumble River becomes a character, a nice touch to this series!

I’m on to “Murder of a Snake in the Grass” next and look forward to reading or listening to the entire series so I can get to the newest book, “Dead in the Water” a Welcome Back to Scumble River Mystery.

Like this Series Despite Stereotypical Characters

I enjoyed this third installment of the Scumble River Mysteries. I find Skye likable and entertaining, even if her taste in men is terrible. The mystery remains when Skye will fix her love life. In this book we encounter lots of self centered people, high school cheerleaders and beauty pageant contestants. I think I would have preferred more three dimensional characters. I mean does every single popular kid have to be mean, weight obsessed, completely shallow and basically indistinguishable from each other? Skye manages to be much more sympathetic to people than I would have been. I plan to continue this series and see what she's up to in the next book.
