Publisher's summary

When school psychologist Skye Denison stumbles over the body of pushy Promfest chairperson Annette Paine during a Halloween fundraiser, it looks like a clear-cut case of promicide. Annette was not the only prom mom desperate to see her daughter crowned queen. But she was also wearing the same witch costume as Skye, so which witch was the intended victim?

A bit of a stretch

The Prom moms were a bit of a stretch. And the whole identity thing was even more so. Still worth a listen.

Great Series

Recently I began with book 1 in the series and just finished book 15 as well as the new addition. This is a terrific series, clean, friendly, and I loved the characters. Each character is unique and fun to follow. You can't go wrong reading or listening to the whole series.

Best in the series!

What made the experience of listening to Murder of a Royal Pain the most enjoyable?

This one is so good, and hard because it shows a vunerable side of Skye yet the mystery is great and I've listened several times.

Great Job Again!

Once again Swanson has written a pure gem! Although I have listened to all of her Scumble River Mysteries, I found this one the best. The plot and characterization were great, and she used both to close doors and open others. She wove real life phobias, needs, joys, and experiences into a fantasy that very well could have been a reality. This was worth the listen.

Scumble River series is phenomenal

I love this series second time listening. I’ve read all of them as well. Audible brings them to life! I hope they keep Christine Leto as narrator! When they do more for the welcome back series. I missed her last time in murder of a Botox blonde. She really makes Denise Swanson’s characters come to life and captures their essence! I really enjoyed the plot twist in this one, connecting the past couple books! Very awesome! Kept you in suspense and wanting more!! Highly recommend!

It's getting better and better

This was a great book. It ties up the loose ends of the previous book and has Skye coming full circle. I don't want to give away any spoilers so I will leave it at that. The plot and pacing was great. The mystery was well planned and the subplots were also interesting. There is a lot going on in this book. It tops the previous book and I can't wait to read the next one.

Blast from the Past

Where does Murder of a Royal Pain rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

So far this book has got to be the best one out of this series. This one really had me thinking about the past books and what happened in each of the other murders. It was wasn't just its own murder mystery book but it brought up murders from the past books in this series..

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

yes this book actually did keep me on the edge of my seat, because I knew that the women who were murdered where not the ones that the killer intended to murder, they had to be accidents, but I couldn't really figure out who the main victim was supposed to be. A big part of me figured it had to be Sky but then I couldn't figure out who and the motive,

What about Christine Leto’s performance did you like?

Her voice changes for each character, she brings personality and emotion to the characters and it makes you have an emotional connection with them and with their situation.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

yes it really was. if I had the time I think I would try to listen to this whole series in one sitting.

Any additional comments?

none

Very predictable

It was the same story with just a different title. I started out really liking this character but it's hard to now.
