Together they uncover sinister happenings in the past - including greed and elements of witchcraft - that provide a host of motives for murder. But it isn't until a second body is discovered that the killer is unmasked.

"With fascinating characters and an intriguing plot, this is a real page turner." (Katie Fforde)
"Kept me awake until 2am!"
Great book. No problem with the narrator here.
Was awake until 2am and after because I didn't want to miss what happened next.
"Good book spoilt by the reader"
This is only my 2nd Lesley Cookham and I am enjoying the stories but the voice of Julie Barnes for Libby is spoiling this book as she sounds like a whining 5 year old unlike Patience Townsend in Murder in Steeple Martin, my first Lesley Cookham.
"Our modern day Agatha"
Have enjoyed Lesley Cookman's novels they belong to a genre I like - my quibbles with audio - are that the catalogue doesn't give a chronological order to the series - which is confusing. also the recorded books give references to others as yet non recorded - so we;re key details in the lives, relationships and deaths in the cast of regulars - and what happened to Plod1. Can't understand why Libby hasn't killed Ben yet
Like the earlier reviewer, I really enjoyed listening to the book, but found the narrator's voice really annoying, thankfully, they appear to have reverted to the earlier narrator for future books. I'm really enjoying this series of books, escapism at it's best!
