Publisher's Summary

Luke Fitzwilliam does not believe Miss Pinkerton's wild allegation that a multiple murderer is at work in the quiet English village of Wychwood and that her local doctor is next in line.

But within hours, Miss Pinkerton has been killed in a hit-and-run car accident. Mere coincidence? Luke is inclined to think so - until he reads in the Times of the unexpected demise of Wychwood's Dr. Humbleby.

This title was previously published as Easy to Kill.

    "Entertaining with Twists and Turns"

I enjoyed the characters in Murder Is Easy, though Christie again adds one of those love at first sight subplots that I find hard to accept. The plot twists keep you guessing until the end. This is sometimes billed as a Superintendent Battle story but be warned, he only shows up in the last chapter or two and is really an afterthought. Any Superintendent would have done the job.

    Story
    "A Christie country mystery"

As with all Agatha Christie mysteries, the solution to the mystery isn't revealed until the end. The clues lead round and round as the sleuth peels away the superficial covering laid down by the murderer.

The charm underlying this story is of young romance, honor, and destiny.

Readers who enjoy a diversion into last-century English country life should find this story a nice vacation from 21st century concerns.

    Story
    "Christie at her best"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, because the performance was great, and this was one of Christie's better works. The plot was tighter, and I thought I knew "whodunit" long before the end, but I was wrong...which was fun!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Murder Is Easy?

The end when you find out who the murderer is!

What about Hugh Fraser’s performance did you like?

    Everything! He's a brilliant performer.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, I really enjoyed this work. Christie's plots seemed to get looser as she continued to write, but this one was very tightly written and had a good twist at the end.

    "Is this really Agatha Christie?"

Hugh Fraser did his usual good job of narrating, but the story itself was predictable, the characters not at all compelling and their dialogue dull. So unlike all other Christie books I've read.
