    "Great Story-Wrong Narrator"

I have long been a fan of Mrs. Pollifax, having listened to the library audio book by Barb Rosenblat. This narration is done by several different people and makes the flow difficult. Why doesn't Audible carry the series narrated by Rosenblat?

    "FINALLY"

I have been wondering why Audible didn't carry this series! I love reading all of the Pollifax books and now I can finally listen to them. You won't regret this listen if you are looking for a light adventure. I far prefer Barbara Rosenblat as the reader but this is OK. I take away one star for format/reader. A fun book!

    "Gotta love her"

When I'm in the mood for light fiction, I often turn to Mrs. Pollifax. No romance to speak of, and certainly no sex; just a good story and some human interaction and nothing to get upset about. Actually, I should say I turn to the author, as she has other books besides this series and I have probably read them all.

"The Story is Great, the Narration is lacking"

I am a huge fan of Dorothy Gilman's Mrs. Polilifax series, and highly encourage you to read all of them. The narrator for this one reads too quickly and it is frequently difficult to differentiate between the female voices. Barbara Rosenblat does the best job with this series in my opinion.

    "Barbara Rosenblat Where Are You!!!!"

I was so looking forward to this book - and then the narrators began - they all were so hurried in their reading it seemed like they couldn't wait to finish.

Ms. Rosenblat reads at just the right pace for Mrs. Pollifax, and gives the right tone and inflection to all the other characters in the story.

I just listened to a few minutes of this book and then turned to another Gilman novel, which is being read wonderfully by Ms. Rosenblat.

"More Pollifax - and Farrell too!"

For Gilman fans who can't get enough of Emily Pollifax. Emily joins Farrell again for another adventure. If you are a fan you will enjoy this story. If you are new to Gilman or Pollifax, the first 6 books are best (this one is #10). As a Pollifax introduction, I recommend "The Unexpected Mrs. Pollifax" in which she first works for the CIA. Mrs. Pollifax is an unusual "little old lady" who has surprising skills as a spy because she looks so innocent. Light adventure, wonderful characters. I enjoy the multi-voice reading for this book as a nice change from the single voice narration (Barbara Rosenblat) for most of the Pollifax books.

"Worth Getting Used to the Narrator"

I am so partial to the original narrator of the Mrs. Pollifax series that it takes me a couple of chapters to settle in. I had to listen to the first two chapters twice because I was so distracted by the narrator. Also, my Nano seems to be on amphetamines, so this adds to the problem.

As always, though, I thoroughly enjoy Mrs. Pollifax and Farrell together again, but I STILL haven't found the book in which she and Cyrus meet in Zambia. Still looking...

    "terrible narration"

So sorry I forgot to check the narrator on this one. Wish I could get my credit back, I don't know if I can stand to listen to the whole book or not.

    "Disappointing"

I love the delightfully spunky Mrs. Pollyfax and was ready for another entertaining experience. Didn't have one! The producer must have realized the material was weak and tired, but wanted to capitalize on the success of her previous books. Did Ms Rosenblat refuse to be the reader or did the producer think utilizing a cast would breath life into the book? Ms Rosenblat is fantastic, and I will buy any book she reads, The cast was a disaster.

    How about a refund?

    "Confusion Reigns"
What disappointed you about Mrs. Pollifax and the Second Thief?

The way this book was performed was terrible. I could barely follow the plot and I have read the book. All the different voices made this hard to follow. Too bad, it is a pretty good book.

What didn’t you like about the narrator’s performance?

I dislike this radio play style of narration. With one narrator the stories seem much more cohesive (when the reader is talented)
