A missing salami leads Mrs. Pollifax to a shocking discovery: a woman is hiding in her house. Even more unsettling is the revelation that ever since the young woman had a chance encounter with the heir to the throne of Ubangiba, she has been followed by deadly hit men.
What do these men want?

Tangential, eclectic, avid listener... favorite book is the one currently in ear.
Love to brain chill with a Mrs. P novel every now and then. Its like eating a cream puff, nothing really there, but enjoyable anyway. This is different than the usual formula for Mrs P books and I enjoyed the change up, made me want to read the next.
I'm a mom. I have drama in my life. I don't want books with the F-bomb, nor graphic violence. I read for fun and to bring my family together. I read for reducing stress levels. We have never had a television in our home and our children are now mid twenties to 19. We listen together and look for belly-wrenching laughter. So what is it like to live without a TV? Awesomely educational and inspirational. Each new book is a marvel.
After Emily takes Cyrus to the airport she returns home to find she isn't alone. Searching Mrs Pollifax finds her unexpected guest. A white van becomes suspicious in Emily's neighborhood. All this sets up a story Mrs Pollifax and visitor are running from their pursuers.
A call from an exhausted Mrs Pollifax brings the CIA to the rescue. Furthermore two crazy stories collide which sends Mrs Pollifax and crew to Africa.
Emily Pollifax has spunk, is creative, resourceful, and genuinely interested in catching the crook(s). I want to be an Emily Pollifax when I grow up.
The narration is always superb with the accents of each character adding to the richness of the listening experience.
I lliked the addition of the character Kadi to the storyline.
As always, Mrs. Pollifax!
Never too late to join the CIA
The adventures of Mrs. Pollifax follow the tried and true storyline recipe after the initial introduction in the first book. While always a terrific listening experience, it is the narration of Barbara Rosenblat's talented use of foreign accents which helps to identify each charactors individuality.
I love Mrs Pollifax and Barbara Rosenblatt, and you will as well. It has everything - intrigue, excitement, humor and the best old lady spy that ever "lived".
Emphatically yes! I have loved this series since middle school and was just waiting for it to go on sale so I could snap up the ones I was missing without my husband killing me. I will admit to chain listening for about a month - bliss!
I have enjoyed Barbara Rosenblat in many books and she does not disappoint here.
Yes, then start the next one.
Mrs Pollifax remains true to form as in the previous books. She is an absolute delight.
This is a wonderful series with great side characters, interesting plots and well read by Ms. Rosenblat. No graphic violence or unnecessary language either. I liked the plot and interesting details in this book 10. Mrs Pollifax and the other characters are well described and the action is engaging. Because Dorothy Gilman uses characters from previous books, I think it is most enjoyable to read the books in order. Specifically since, book 11 Mrs Pollifax and the Lion Killer and Mrs Pollifax Pursued follow along together.
Love all the book 1-13 done by Barbara Rosenblat. She does Mrs Pollafix and the gang so well. I was very upset with book 14 the narrator Sharon killed Mrs Pollafix and the gang for me I could not even get through the prologue on book 14 so I bought the paper copy to read it. Please after 13 wonderful books. Please have Barbara Rosenblat redo book fourteen and bring the old gang back together for one last ride. She is the one true Mrs Pollafix.
Another great entry in an entertaining series. Mrs Pollifax is a delightful and addictive character set in interesting situations with quirky plot twists. Can't wait for the next entry in this series.
A thousand voices from one talented actress makes the beloved series come alive. The intrepid Mrs P is stalked on her own turf discovering a stowaway hidden in her pantry closet. Her danger draws mrs p into a delicious journey of narrow escapes, a stint in the traveling circus, and the thwarting international skullduggery. A treat indeed
