Love the story, but the narrator...
This story is one of my favorites, but this narrator leaves a lot to be desired. Nasal, monotone voice grates on one's nerves and it's hard to finish the story.

An OK book with a higher body count than expected

I would actually give this a 3.5 to 4 stars. This was my first Linda Howard book. It was a fun book with a mystery and higher body count than I expected. I will say that Howard does write crazy people very well. If you are looking for a mostly humorous read with a little mystery then this is a good book....it is a tad unrealistic but fun non the less.

LOVED IT! Funny romantic suspense
I've been looking for a good romantic suspense lately and one of the audiobook groups I belong to recommended this. I am SO GLAD I listened to them and took the recommendation. This book was awesome and I was sad when it had to end. Funny, steamy, suspenseful, awesome! I loved the narration as well. Looking forward to more Linda Howard books!

Still a favorite
I have read, actually reread several times, this book, and it is still a favorite. It does take place 20 years ago, so the technology is Certainly not up-to-date, but it’s the story itself that makes it an exciting, fast-paced mystery romance. The narration is perfect, and I definitely recommend downloading it to your Audible.

A lot more than just Romance
I’m a hist rom addict but I veered into this contemporary and I wasn’t disappointed. It is a well written story and I wasn’t bored at any point. I enjoyed reading about that time period before cellphones were a common thing lol. I just wasn’t ready for the dead body count in this book. The romance kinda seemed insta like one minute they were enemies and the next they were lovers. I wish I got more of them falling in love. The suspense was the star of the book. That can make or break the book for some 🤷🏽♀️. I enjoyed it even if I like to feel the feels and there wasn’t a lot of that.
