Editorial reviews

Editors Select, March 2014 - While not my go-to genre, every now and then I like to sit back and take in a good mystery/thriller. So, when I saw that Harlan Coben was coming out with a new stand-alone novel, I felt it was the perfect time to try out something new from an author I knew well by reputation (through countless rave reviews from Audible members) but never read or listened to personally. Missing Youwas exactly what I was hoping for: a cleverly conceived, suspenseful thrill-ride with cops and bad guys. There's a taken-from-the-headlines sense to the story where 40-year-old NYPD detective, Kat Donovan, discovers an old love and stumbles upon a possible gateway into a mysterious crime world through an online dating site her friend signs her up for. If you are looking for some smart entertainment and the kind of book you just can't put down, I can highly recommend Missing You. For anyone who is already a Coben fan, Missing You offers something new in a strong female protagonist, and a strong female narrator in January LaVoy to boot! Tricia, Audible Editor

Fantastic

Everything about the book was great. Characters and narrator were perfect. Loved Kats personality and humor.

Dunno how to rate this.

I want to give it 5 stars, but it kept me awake until 9am. I've read and liked Harlen's books before, but I haven't loved one this much. It's well-written, intense, sad, sweet, romantic, thrilling, scary af, and everything you want ina thriller.

A little slow but worth the read

I love this genre of books so I have read/listened to a lot! I found this one to be slow and difficult to pay attention to in the beginning. However, I stuck with it and enjoyed it overall. It annoyed me how dumb she made the lead character when it came to online stuff (No spoiler) when she was smart with other things, but again that didn't completely turn me off.

If you're looking for a good book like this try almost any book by Lisa Gardner (D.D. warren series is a great one to start) or the Naturalist series by Andrew Mayne. Those are some real page-turners!

Fun ride, not a Coben favorite

felt like 3 tales interwoven bc of shortcomings of each, rather than pieces that fit together like a Coben reader expects from the master. Still enjoyed it overall and would recommend for the entertaining listen.

Not good.

The protagonist is hard to like or connect to, and I found a lot of jumping around in the story, and redundancy in the descriptions. The story premise is decent, but it could have been told better.

A great book to listen to!

I liked every bit of this book accept the narrator. On of the male character sound like he had a terrible nasal problem. Drove me crazy!

The book itself had a great story line. I never saw the end coming! Hope she writes more with the lady (Marty) character.

Thriller

This audiobook is well worth listening to. Many plot twists weaved together in a complex web. The only issue for me was the book's rather contrived ending.

Coben happens again

About my 5th or 6th by this author. He twists. He turns. He puts you on the edge of your seat, and doesn’t let you lean back. As an author, I appreciate the magnitude of his skill. Coben is an entertainment magician. Deede Blake, author

Awesome book 📖

But I expected nothing less from Harlan Coben. It keeps you guessing from very early on and you just can’t stop reading/listening!! I have yet to be disappointed by anything by this author.
