Editorial reviews

Editors Select, March 2014 - While not my go-to genre, every now and then I like to sit back and take in a good mystery/thriller. So, when I saw that Harlan Coben was coming out with a new stand-alone novel, I felt it was the perfect time to try out something new from an author I knew well by reputation (through countless rave reviews from Audible members) but never read or listened to personally. Missing Youwas exactly what I was hoping for: a cleverly conceived, suspenseful thrill-ride with cops and bad guys. There's a taken-from-the-headlines sense to the story where 40-year-old NYPD detective, Kat Donovan, discovers an old love and stumbles upon a possible gateway into a mysterious crime world through an online dating site her friend signs her up for. If you are looking for some smart entertainment and the kind of book you just can't put down, I can highly recommend Missing You. For anyone who is already a Coben fan, Missing You offers something new in a strong female protagonist, and a strong female narrator in January LaVoy to boot! Tricia, Audible Editor

Disappointed

I really like this author for his fresh plots. But one thing I really hate is when the author leaves the ending up to the reader. I think it is often because they don't know what to do.

Oh what a tangled web we weave!

This book held my interest from the moment I picked it up. I usually listen on the way to and from work. Missing You had me listening all time, every spare minute. I loved the way the story lines all meshed. it has been a while since I read one of Harlan Coben's books. I won't wait so long agsin!

A Lesson for Victums of Scams

It's one of those books that you can't put down. I am a victim and I learned a lot. I learned how vulnerable I was and why I bought into it. It had action, mystery and romance all in one book. I'd recommend it for almost anyone.

I couldn't stop listening to this story! It was a plot full of suspense! It was my 1st from this author and now I'm looking forward to listening to more from him.

Great easy listen!

Very much enjoyed this book by an author with whom I was unfamiliar. To her credit, the narrator brought it to life. I would highly recommend it to the non-squeamish mystery readers.

Entertaining yet forgettable melodrama

Good plot but the characters were a bit under underdeveloped, too much unnecessary romanticism… ends tied up a bit too neatly and unbelievably.

Started out a really good read....

I've always liked Harlan Coben and have read many of his books but I'm honestly getting tired of a certain agenda being forced upon me. If I had know some of the content I wouldn't have bought the book. Call me narrow minded or whatever you would like but I'm tired of homosexuality being politically correct shiver down my throat. This Review probably won't even make it into print. It'll be the last Coben book I read

Worth every word. Exceptional story

it was very well produced and the twists and turns of the plot were exciting and kept me on the edge of my seat. I would recommend this is a fun easy weekend read on a rainy day. You can't put it down and the storyteller was fantastic!!! Enjoy

A very nice thriller

Plot: not bad. Speed: good. Performance: very good. Overall: I thought it was very enjoyable, and I'm glad I listened. This is my second Harlan Coben, and I am officially a fan.
I agree with some reviewers, that the plot wasn't the most original in the world, but it was truly well-written, and kept me engrossed, very engrossed.
The protagonist's personal life issues occupy a big chunk of the book. Normally I'd mind that, but in this book they didn't seem to jar.
