Best-selling author Ann B. Ross cooks up a batch of fun in this latest novel in her popular series.
With a crisp bite in the air, Miss Julia is enjoying a well-earned respite by her new fireplace. But autumn leaves aren’t the only things falling: James, Hazel Marie’s housekeeper, has had a nasty tumble down some stairs. How can Hazel Marie feed and take care of him - not to mention a husband and two babies - when she barely knows how to boil water?
Miss Julia jumps in to help by convincing the ladies of Abbotsville to put on their aprons and give cooking lessons. With success so close she can taste it, Miss Julia isn’t thrilled when an unexpected visitor shows up. Brother Vern Puckett, Hazel Marie’s no-good uncle, started life on the wrong foot and stayed there. What could he possibly want from his frazzled niece this time?
With a delightful helping of madcap antics, Miss Julia Stirs Up Trouble is a perfect next course in this charming series.

I love a good mystery
I have all of the Miss Julia books that are available on audio-the main story line seems to be a collection of recipe's this is not what I expected and I am disappointed!
I love cozy mysteries, I wish audio books more of them.
Everything, she is a wonderful narrator and brings life to the story.
The recipe's, not any of the characters, I wanted more of the story line.
After having read all previous 13 books in the Miss Julia series and rating them 5 stars, I was so excited about #14 coming out on audible. Cynthia Darlow's performance was once again flawless. However the story line was diluted compared with the previous books in the series. The inclusion of southern recipes in the story was not only boring, but could have been placed at the end of the book, instead of inserting them all throughout. Quite tedious. However, I will still look forward to a #15 and more adventures and mischief from Miss Julia.
Keep on writing them, Ann B. Ross.
I've listened to all of the Miss Julia series and am looking for the next one. They are funny and on this one, Stirs Up Trouble, I actually made the Ritz Cracker pie! Cynthia Darlow is the perfect narrator for these books.
Richer story line. Was not interested in the actual recipes. Dated recipes besides.
yes! But not likely if this had been my first listen..
She is absolutely fabulous. She makes Ann Ross' books come alive.
It's not that the scenes needed cutting it just needed a stronger, richer story line as she usually does so beautifully.
I started reading this series by pure accident. The library had nothing new and exciting on the shelves for audiobooks and I picked up the first Miss Julia book. Have been hooked ever since.
Hazel Marie needs to grow a backbone but I have thought that since book #2. She whines a bit too much for me.
Overall - it's an easy read with no language to mask for little ears. Can't wait for book 15.
love to read and love audio books!Favorite authors: Marcia Willett,Nevil Shute,Mary Stewart, and Jacqueline Winspear. I could go on and on but wont bore you! I belong to a book group and we often" Listen" to the books we have selected for the month while using a paper copy for the discussion notes. It really enhances the quality of the story.
Another WINNER for Ann B Ross. This book is another hilarious romp in the Miss Julia Series. I have liked every one and LOVED quite a few. The Character development is amazing. I feel like I know these people . It would be helpful to the listener to have read all the books but starting with this one will certainly wet your appetite for more.
Cynthia Darlow is one of my all time favorite narrators. How she changes her voice for the many characters is unbelievable.. I loved the voice for Granny Wiggens and Miss Mattie. She made them seem so endearing .If there were a 10 star rating I would give it to Cynthia Darlow!
This series is one of the few that keep your interested book after book. Much better than the Jan Karon Father Tim books which lost it punch after the 4th book.
Ann B Ross keeps you laughing out loud at the plots and antics of Miss Julia and Company. Eagerly waiting for the next installment.
RETIRED & LOVING IT.
THIS BOOK IS ENDEARING OF OUR BUSY TO PUT THINGS RIGHT, MISS JULIA. SUCH A WONDERFUL NEW CHARACTER INTRODUCED, AND OH SO FUNNY ENDING. I ENJOYED STAYING UP LISTENING TO THIS ONE, IT WAS STORMING OUTSIDE SOMETHING AWFUL WITH 80 MILE AN HOUR WINDS AND I WAS LAUGHING SO HARD I DID NO KNOW IT AS LONG AS THE HOUSE STAYED INTACT I WAS NOT GOING TO STOP THIS STORY.
