The Cold War is over, and chaos is setting in. The new President of Russia is trying to create a new democratic regime. But there are strong elements within the country that are trying to stop him: the ruthless Russian Mafia, the right-wing nationalists, and even revanchist Czarists. Op-Center, the newly founded but highly successful crisis management team, begins a race against the clock and against the hardliners. Its members face an uphill battle. Their task is made more difficult by the discovery of a Russian counterpart to Op-Center - but this one is controlled by the same repressive hardliners. Two rival Op-Centers, virtual mirrors of each other, exist. But if this mirror cracks, it will be much more than seven years bad luck.

The narrators voice and cadence is so irritating I couldn't listen more than an hour. Tried going back several times to "tough it out" because he narrates most of the series- I can't do it. I may have to actually read the book.
Lots of mistakes in things like military titles and other things which show a lack of familiarity with the military. Amateur mistakes which are disappointing from an author approved by Clancy.
Button pressed with the ability of the story keep me going my reluctance to start off the off centre series was there's nothing new under the Sun what was about with this sort
Neither is better than the other but I do believe the audio enhances the experience of reading the print version.
Peggy the British spy was my favourite character. Who doesn't love a sexy British spy?
The moment that moved me the most was when Orlov put his life, the life of his son and wife on the line to do what was right, therefore saving countless lives and Russian democracy. (Although with that megalomaniac Putin leading Russia, in reality it is run like a dictatorship).
Original, suspenseful, very well told.
Hood & Rogers
Not a scene, but the way the Russian were almost to the end 1 step before the Americans.
I would recommend Opt Center 2 - Mirror image to all hard core Tom Clancy fans and the ones that liked the first book inte the serie. It's a well written story.
The description of how to spy with the help of comics was interesting I was sorry when it turned for the worse
You need to get used to his way of reading. Everybody won't like his voice.
The story feels a bit dated. I hasn't aged with grace. As I'm living in sweden and have been to St. Petersberg i found the descriptions of the places more interesting then the story. It is not as good as the first one in the serie.
The story is tedious, and the performance reading the story is just awful.
This is the first Tom Clancy novel I've quit on.
His inflection is completely wrong.
I have loved Tom Clancy novels for years. This one is a huge disappointment.
