An Old Nemesis Returns

What made the experience of listening to Midnight in Death the most enjoyable?

Good narration, familiar, well-written characters, good continuity in the series all make this story enjoyable.

Would you recommend Midnight in Death to your friends? Why or why not?

Yes, as a part of this mystery series but this is not the strongest of the stories.

What about Susan Ericksen’s performance did you like?

Good narration, all voices; especially Roarke's Irish brogue.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, it was short, too short.

Any additional comments?

The ending seemed rushed. Seems to me that the complex stories with long backstory and high suspense for the major characters should be drawn out more, not rushed.

Enjoyable

A great story. Enjoyed the twists that take place and pity Eve in a few instances. Can’t wait to read/listen the next one.

Pretty good.

At least Dallas isn't out of control and screaming all the time in this one! The story is well written and "complete" even though it is shorter than the other installments. Without revealing the mystery plot line, I can say it has been done before, but is done well here. I did figure out what was going on about 1/2 way through, but it was still enjoyable.

I still think that the Roarke character is highly unrealistic and too, tooo, tooooo perfect. It makes it more like fantasy ... nice fantasy.. but impossible for any real man to compete with.

The narrator, as usual, is excellent.

Yes, I'd recommend the book.

Another great story

Would you listen to Midnight in Death again? Why?

Loved this one. Well detailed, with interesting characters, which is a bit unusual for a novella in the middle of an established series. The ending was a bit abrupt, but logical.

Continuing the Addictive Experience

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Each novel in the In Death series builds upon the last and continues to fascinate and intrigue the reader. Midnight In Death is another tantalizing taste of Eve and Roarke's electric relationship

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

the plot keeps you on edge by slowly revealing little pieces of information that taken together lead to a satisfying resolution.

Have you listened to any of Susan Ericksen’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have listened to all the "In Death" series to this point and I cannot imagine any other narrator for this series as Susan Ericksen manages to make each character individual and instantly recognizable.I especially like her interpretation of Delia Peabody.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The build up of suspense in Midnight in Death is masterful!I found it very difficult to take a break from listening.

Any additional comments?

The "In Death" series is a fabulous series for audio books.Would it be possible to all the this series , including anthologies etc, available in audio book form.I've looked for other JD Robb titles but was unable to find the audio format
