Publisher's summary

They should've let him go. They should've let him retire in peace. They should've left his woman out of it.

Kharzai Ghiassi has served the US Government his entire adult life. The best infiltration agent they've ever had. Death is not just his business, death is his life. He's gone off the CIA's radar and all they know is that someone is in danger.

When a former soccer star turned Islamic terrorist shows up in Anchorage Alaska, retired Marine Corps Special Operator Marcus ‘Mojo' Johnson and his State Trooper wife Lonnie team up with the FBI's Mike and Hilde Farris to put a stop to the threat that hangs over the city like a hammer about to fall. No one is safe. No one can hide in the Land of The Midnight Sun.

Midnight Sun

Where does Midnight Sun rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Midnight Sun is a good thriller with non-stop action from start to finish. The first chapter is well-written, compelling, gut-wrenching, and offers some excitement and tension along the way.

Nonstop action!

action-adventure, spies, law-enforcement, Alaska, ex-marine, ex-military, extremists, family, friendship, suspense, survivor's guilt, thriller

The thing about reading this author's books out of publication order is that I discovered more interesting things about each of the recurring characters. That's a good thing. Like all of Basil Sands' books, this one is an action thriller, fast paced and full of law enforcement and inactive Marines. Kharzai is the known CIA amongst the recurring characters and this book lets us know more about the
anger that is always present beneath his facade. I know that I want to reread them in publication order after I pry them loose from a certain inactive Marine who liberated them from me.
The audios are narrated by the author and while that is almost always a good thing, in this case it is even better because he is a professional narrator!

This author needs to get his name out!

This is the first book I’ve bought from the author and these books are rock solid! He even does a great job self narrating these books! I got a free one for review and loved it and then bought the next couple that were on audible. If you like action, Vince Flynn, Brad Taylor, Andrew Peterson you will absolutely enjoy these.

Midnight Sun

All of my favorite characters from previous Basil Sands stories. Sweet, exciting, & emotional. A few problems with the quality of the audio but still worth a listen for Sands fans.

Excellent!

Another wonderful book by Basil Sands! I would love to see his books become a tv or movie series. Action packed, suspenseful, and just plain awesome! If my husband were to read books, he would love these! I have and would recommend this book to others. can't wait to hear more of his work.
The narration was great as always! I can't say anything bad about this book or any of his books! keep them coming!

Fun listen

It was a bit of a pulp story. The narration was quirky. I enjoyed the story and the characters that Basil created.

Good, but not quite as good as Basil's other books

I was introduced to Basil Sands back when all his books were free online. I absolutely loved Faithful Warrior and enjoyed 65 Below as well as Karl's Last Flight.

"Midnight Sun" brings the character Kharzai back into the spotlight. He is a fun loving, dangerous, and slightly psychotic deep cover CIA agent who always seems to be in the right place at the right time. The ending leaves room for more books featuring Kharzai which is good. Although you can listen to this book on it's own, I would highly suggest listening to Basil's other books first to get the background.

I struggled whether to leave a 4 or 3 star rating, but ultimately decided on 3. The plot was good, but I found the conversation between characters to be too corny almost to the point of being distracting. That said, I don't regret listening to it and highly recommend Basil's other books.
