Brian Cox stars as McLevy with Siobhán Redmond as Jean Brash and Michael Perceval-Maxwell as Mulholland in these BBC Radio 4 full-cast dramatisations.
Inspired by the real-life memoirs of a Victorian Inspector in Scotland, James McLevy prowls the dark streets of 1860s Edinburgh bringing criminals to justice, with the assistance of Constable Mulholland.
In Series 6, the episodes are: A Bolt from the Blue, End of the Line, Jack O’ Diamonds and Queen of Spades. Directed by Patrick Rayner.

"What a great series."
Great story and great acting. Brian Cox is the only one to play the lead in this continuing series. I am waiting for the next in the series number 8 to be released.

The writing and cast combine to create a wonderful atmosphere in these stories. I first caught them on Radio 4Extra and am absolutely hooked on them.
Brian Cox brings McLevy to life with all his complexities and shades. It's a great performance - as is Siobhan Redmond's. They play off one another so cleverly - humour one moment and a sense of danger the next.
Well worth buying. I can listen to these stories again and again. Very high quality radio drama.
