Patterson worked his magic again by giving readers a great plot with a surprise twist at the end. Mary, Mary holds your attention from beginning to end. I recommend this book highly!
To the slight negative, I would have preferred either a better romantic storyline, or none at all - It did nothing for me or for the story.
This just didn't quite do it for me. This was my first venture into an Alex Cross book and I found this particular one to be rather 'blah'. Sure, it keeps you guessing, but in the end, you ask 'who cares'? I give 3 stars because it *did* entertain me, but it just never really came together for me.
I thoroughly enjoyed this listen. I never saw the end coming. Thought the naration was excellent in capturing the various characters. A most captivating story.
As usual, Patterson is good for a page-turner. One identifies with his hero Alex Cross in all of these novels. Great for a long plane trip or a vacation by the pool. Don't bother if you are looking for some literature to sharpen your brain.
This was a very good listen! I wasn't put off by the "Romance" because it was a very small part of the book. Usually, I can figure out the end of a "who dunnit" but this one took me by total surprise. I'm sure the next Alex Cross novel will answer most of the questions I had at the end. Download....you won't be disappointed!
I am a die hard Patterson/Cross follower and this is up there with my favorites. I really couldn't pick a definite favorite, as I truly enjoy them all. This one, though, was one that kept me totally involved, not wanting to turn it off. I have since downloaded another one and will continue. I am not sure who I enjoy more, the writing of Patterson or the actions of Cross - same/same.
