Great Listen, Very Worth A Credit !!
Not sure why people thought JS was asleep at the wheel, I've listened to all in the series now but because of the negative reviews (shouldn't have listened to them) skipped this one until now. I thought this book delved a bit deeper into the criminal mind, their actions and thoughts. Was not just Virgil and friends. Im not a reviewer normally but I buy and listen to at least 10 books a month and truly thought this was a great addition to the Virgil Flowers series.

Virgil is wonderful!
He is is my favorite Sandford character and Eric Conger is the perfect voice for him. I loved every moment and was sad when the story was over.

Good read but all. Minnesotans’ notice the mispronunciations.
Love all the Flowers book & enjoy the narrator. However, if Virgil is supposed to BE from MN, then the towns & lakes should be pronounced like the people living there pronounce them.
I know nothing will be done about these errors but at least I got it off my chest.

Love The Combo! Sanford & Conger
Would you consider the audio edition of Mad River to be better than the print version?
Conger, really is the perfect {next to Guidal that is} narrator for Sanfords stories. I have listened to most of them

John Sanfords Prey series is one ,if not the Best listening experience one could TREAT themselves to. Just Masterful!

Disappointing, plodding, ok reader
Is there anything you would change about this book?
The story was not compelling nor compellingly told. It plodded along and then carried on an hour after it should have ended. And where is Richard Ferrone? He makes Sandford books come alive. A large disappointment for a fan of Lucas Davenport novels.

Is there anything you would change about this book?
Well written and action packed. Well developed characters. Wouldn't change anything.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Nothing i guess that is they way he wrights his books
