Big disappointment

I found this addition to the LJ pantheon a disappointment. I listened to it several times --& had to restart it multiple times every time I tried it. I'd start the book & then a while later I'd realize there was a voice in my head but I had no idea what he was talking about; I'd gotten so bored with the story that I zoned out again. So I'd go back & start over, & within a few minutes I was thinking about my next grocery list or whatever.

It's not Woodman's fault; he's an excellent narrator, just a boring short book.

Great book

This was a great SHORT story about Lord John Grey. The story does have excitement and mystery, but it is very short.

hellfire

This was a real disappointment after reading her other books. I wouldn't recommend it. Too much of a bloodthirsty downer for me.

Is the really Gabaldon?

Gabaldon is my all time favorite author. I read the Outlander series over and over. All I can say about the one is that she must have been hitting the whiskey that day! The only thing I recognized was JG'S name.

Buy The Hand if the Devil and get this included

I love Lord John stories, but was disappointed to learn that this book is only 2 chapters! I have since learned that it’s a novella for the Hand of the Devil. I feel like I wasted a credit on this when I could have used it for the larger book, which I intended to read anyway.

disppointment

What would have made Lord John and the Hellfire Club better?

a more substantial story that actually had an ending

Would you be willing to try another one of Jeff Woodman’s performances?

He was not the problem

Any additional comments?

This was a real disappointment after the Outlander series which I had enjoyed so much.

Not up to Galbadon's par

Very short, only a middle, no beginning and not a satisfying end
