Publisher's Summary

When reporter Ellen Gleeson gets a "Have You Seen This Child?" flyer in the mail, she almost throws it away. But something about it makes her look again, and her heart stops - the child in the photo is identical to her adopted son, Will. Her every instinct tells her to deny the similarity between the boys, because she knows her adoption was lawful. But she's a journalist and won't be able to stop thinking about the photo until she figures out the truth. And she can't shake the question: if Will rightfully belongs to someone else, should she keep him or give him up?

She investigates, uncovering clues no one was meant to discover, and when she digs too deep, she risks losing her own life - and that of the son she loves.

Lisa Scottoline breaks new ground in Look Again, a thriller that's both heart-stopping and heart-breaking, and sure to have new fans and book clubs buzzing.

    "Disappointing"

This book was a sluggish experience. Predictable and agonizing. I finished it, but this is by far my least favorite DD Warren book. All the characters need to come back with fresh attitudes.

Reading allows me to travel through time; to visit the world's unique and stunning places. To become somebody I am not... It is glorious.

    "Predictable and Contrived."

I liked the protagonist and as a mother my sympathies were at play. I longed for this woman to get a happy answer. I longed for a book which was tied up with a big, sappy, beautiful bow. But as a reader that is rarely challenging or intriguing. Also, I only love mysteries when they offer shock, twisted plots or characters, antagonists to hate, a likable supporting cast and flawed, real protagonists. This book offered little of any of those elements. So 2 stars is all I can give this one.

Mary Stuart Mastersin, however, was superb. I loved her mommy voice for her interactions with Will. I heard my own voice in hers.

    "Good but...."

Interesting story idea. Narration was very good and kept you involved. I don't want to be a spoiler, so I'll just say the ultimate resolution was so contrived that it made the basic storyline itself unbelievable. Also, some major characters were merely cliches -- the workplace rival who undercuts and betrays the heroine, the boss love interest. However, the book presents an interesting moral question, and is well-suited for a lazy summer read.

Loved the story! I had to keep reading - a roller coaster ride for sure. It is a good thing I was listening - I would not have been able to read through the tears.

Any Mom will feel major gut wrenching throughout this one. Moral decisions, doing what's right for your kid, and thank God turning out as good as one could expect!

"Caught me from the first sentence"

I am very picky with audio books, as they are harder for me to get interested in than reading a book. This story grabbed me with the first sentence, and kept my attention through the whole story.

"Could have condensed the first 6 hrs"
Is there anything you would change about this book?

Too much little details in the first 6 hrs, I kept losing interest had to re-start the book several times. The last 6 hrs were very good, I even cried..

Would you be willing to try another book from Lisa Scottoline? Why or why not?

    Maybe
