Publisher's summary

The must-hear new thriller from the best-selling author of Safe House.

Nick Miller and his team provide a unique and highly illegal service, relocating at-risk individuals across Europe with new identities and new lives. Nick excels at what he does for a reason: He's spent years living in the shadows under an assumed name.

But when Nick steps in to prevent the attempted murder of witness-in-hiding Kate Sutherland on the Isle of Man, he triggers a chain of events with devastating consequences for everyone he protects - because Nick and Kate share a common enemy in Connor Lane, a man who will stop at nothing to get what he wants, even if it means tearing Nick's entire network apart.

Annoying

The book keeps stressing the intelligence and expertise of the heroes yet they do one incredibly stupid thing after another.

Entertaining read with good characters

What did you love best about Long Time Lost?

The characters, and Simon Vance's narration.

What other book might you compare Long Time Lost to and why?

These books have the same "feel" as the Good Thief books.

What about Simon Vance’s performance did you like?

I love Simon's Vance's voice; he is one of the great narrators.

Good until the end

Narrator did a good job with the book. Very smooth reading. Story was very interesting until towards the end. It became a bit weak and not very interesting.

Beyond bellief

Strains belief. Dialog not possible. My tale is that it must have been written in less than overnight.

Don't Bother: Read "Safe House" Instead

Any additional comments?

This interminable novel relies on implausibility as a plot device. Human nature and fortuity "jump the shark" repeatedly. To say more, alas, would be to provide "spoilers."

Unbelievability aside, it is also annoying when the action stops and the characters - rather than, say, continuing to try to kill one another - suddenly start talking. Why fire a gun, after all, when one can shoot off one's mouth?

And the big payoff? A dud.

Ewan's "Safe House" is so much better - read it, instead.
