Publisher's summary

Myron hasn't heard from Terese Collins in years. Not since their affair ended with no explanation. There had been no contact since, so her call catches him off guard. She's in Paris, she says, in trouble, and only Myron can help. She tells him a sad story she's never before revealed: a good marriage, her struggles to get pregnant, the happiest moment of her life when her only child was born, the day everything she'd ever loved was taken from her. In the years since, Terese has had no contact with her ex-husband, until the phone call that brought her to Paris.

When she gets there he's been murdered, and she's a suspect. But then comes a startling piece of evidence that turns the entire case upside down, laying bare Terese's long-buried family secrets in a most shocking way and leaving Myron nowhere to turn for help. Caught in a foreign landscape where nothing is as it seems, he must tear apart the city - and eventually the globe - fighting for answers to unfathomable questions that will take Myron, and millions of Harlan Coben readers, where they have never gone before.

A little disappointed

I’ve listened to all the Myron Bolitar books. The narrator is different on this one and I really dislike the voice he uses for Esperanza. I didn’t love the storyline as well either.

Great Story: Bring back Jonathan Marosz- narrator

As usual Harlan Coben writes a fabulous story. Unfortunately he used Steven Weber to narrate. Weber can't get our beloved characters voices like Marosz could. Esperanza and Big Cindy were especially disappointing. I would hate to think it was a financial decision by Coben to try all these different narrators, including himself (which was a disaster).
Coben has used three or four others, none have compared to Marosz. I will not go back to his books without the excellent narrator he had.

Needs a “reader “

Second Myron book with inane reading. First Coben now Weber. The reading is not simply bad, it’s awful. My last Myron book.

Love the Myron Bolatar series! Mystery with comedy

If you could sum up Long Lost in three words, what would they be?

Long live Myron

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

I could not figure this one out for the life of me. Harlan always puts out information that doesn't seem to add up and keeps me guessing right down to the wire.

Have you listened to any of Steven Weber’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I think this is the first Steven Weber narration and I can't say he's my favorite.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Who says great sex can't be great love?

Any additional comments?

Finding a mystery with humor is such a great combination. I am always entertained and curious about what's going on at the same time.

Very good book

Where does Long Lost rank among all the audiobooks you???ve listened to so far?

I have enjoyed all of Coben's Myron Bolitar series. This one ranks among his best.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Absolutely. Couldn't stop listening the last 2 hours.

Have you listened to any of Steven Weber???s other performances before? How does this one compare?

He is better than Coben as a performer (

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Bolitar gets it done with humor, passion and drive.

highly entertaining

I found this story plausible, very intriguing, with a wonderful French policeman character, and an excellent narration by the narrator. Not having listed to earlier Myron Bolitar audiobooks, I'm not accustomed to the other narrator. I truly enjoyed Weber's narration skills. Of course, good narration can only be accomplished with a good story, great dialogue, and great characters, amply provided by Coben.

Great Story - Great Reader

"Long Lost" is a great story with a number of interesting "twists." It's a real suspenseful thriller with likable protagonists and humorous quips thrown in along the way. And, the reader is one of the very best I've ever listened to.

A New Line of Work for Our Hero

I really enjoyed listening to this book. It includes all the characters we enjoy -- emphasizes Win's particular talents of kicking the shit out of the bad guys to keep Myron alive. One girlfriend goes away and another, previous one, takes center stage. The plot evolves in to a terrorist thing with genetic overtones--cool! Even though, it would have terminated the plot, I thought Myron's decision to follow the terrorists, vice go back to work and earn a buck as Esperanza suggests, was a little funky. Great dialogue, again. Eh? Where's #10?

Please bring back the original narrator!!

Would you try another book from Harlan Coben and/or Steven Weber?

It was so hard to follow the story line - I kept getting lost because of the narration - couldn't identify the characters anymore. And the plot seemed....something less then before.
It was much less detailed and seemed to be much less believable then the first 7 books.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

As a longtime listener to the series I've grown to identify with the characters by their voices. And this narrator is absolutely awful !! It's obvious that he didn't do any prep before recording this book...such as listening to a previous one. If he had:
1) he'd know how to pronounce Terese (hint: it's not Teh-rez).
2) Myron's voice should be strong to reflect a 6'4" 200lb man - not weak the weak Jew
3) Win's voice should reflect the strong, elegant silent type - and not be whiny
4) Don't even get me started on Esperanza...in the previous series she was a young, sexy latina - now she's a whiney elderly lady...

In other words this is no longer the Myron Bolitar series I've come to know and love listening to. It's a slight improvement over having the author read the book with little to no inflection or differentation between characters.
This narration is such a departure from the first books it might as well be a different series.

If this keeps up I'll stop listening.
