With a car that even junior officers joke about, an investigation with no leads, and a best mate whose love life is finally settling down, she has enough on her plate and that's before a second body turns up in identical circumstances to the first. How can a murderer get to victims in seemingly impossible situations and what, if anything, links the victims?

This Number one Kindle best-selling novel is the first in the Jessica Daniel series.

    "Enthralling listen"

I listen mostly to audio books in the car whilst travelling long distances. This was a superb book which had me so enthralled that once I'd arrived at my destination I didn't want to get out of the it! Beautifully narrated by Becky Hindley who certainly defines all the characters in the book. I prefer to listen to books about central characters in the order in which they were written. I will be reading more about Jessica Daniels in the near future.

    Story
    "Loved this !"

I bought book 3 to listen with my teenage daughter on a long car journey- really enjoyed it so thought we should go back and start with book 1 on our next long journey. We both really engaged with it and it made the car trip so much more bearable. These books are great for teenagers and adults alike. The story is quite descriptively detailed which could be a bit tedious if you were just listening to the book but when you are also concentrating on driving it is perfect. The delivery is also very clear which is not always the case on a car stereo with background road noise. Would thoroughly recommend it for these reasons.

    Story
"Good, Bad and a little bit Ugly :)"

This is a difficult book to review for me.. I did like it but I also found some things about it irritating and I felt a relief when it was over. Cetainly nothing to rave about here for me.

    Good
I liked the main character, the story was entertaining even though where it was going was well telegraphed all the way through so nothing suprised me and no unexpected twist - the end twist I'd picked up about halfway through.

    Bad
The writing style is just not for me and I shan't be reading any more from this author.

The repetition of Jessica, Jessica, Jessica almost drove me nuts along with descriptions of everything she did - Jessica turned the tap Jessica let the tap run and Jessica held the glass in her left hand as Jessica filled it up - uuugggh!

    A little bit Ugly
The narration - nice voice and good acent - but like the writing style it was equally really good in patches and flat and moronic in patches. Good during dialogue and flat during descriptions. It did improve towards the end.

    "Good"

I enjoyed this one on audio. I actually downloaded the ebook a while ago but I found it hard to follow because some of the sentences were a bit long and sometimes I lost track of what was going on, but the audiobook from Audiobook made it much easier to follow. I used one of my credits and I am glad I did. The narrator was good and very easy to listen too and the story was entertaining.

"Lord save us from this policewoman"
Would you try another book written by Kerry Wilkinson or narrated by Becky Hindley?

    Probably not

Would you ever listen to anything by Kerry Wilkinson again?

    Probably not

Have you listened to any of Becky Hindley’s other performances? How does this one compare?

    Nothing wrong with the narrator

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Locked In: Jessica Daniels, Book 1?

    Quite a few

    Any additional comments?

If this is typical of the work done by present-day policewomen I am not surprised at the number of complaints that are registered. Jessica seems to have no knowledge of PACE. She is overly aggressive and her behaviour would be a gift to any defence lawyer. Today's police have a difficult job, managing the arrest of undoubtedly guilty suspects, within
legal parameters, something this "heroine" knows little of.
